Dave W. might quit!!!

Just got a word from a reliable source that Dave W. could possibly resign as head coach by midseason. Unconfermed at this point but this is a friend of the family....spoke to his wife after the game. This is not made up......just trying to confirm.

I really doubt you'd see a resignation after Spurrier took so much heat for his resignation. There are also contract implications that come into play as I understand it -- I think a resignation would quite possibly mean that DW doesn't get to collect the rest of his $$$ and can't seek employment unless Miami approves while him being fired would mean collecting that $$$ and getting paid through the end of the deal while being able to write his own (defensive coordinator) ticket...

As stubborn as Dave is, I really doubt he walks away from the game....But if he did, Id give him a bit of repsect for being a man about it and admiting he is not a good coach....

You can't expect Wannstedt to be a good coach when you take away his authority to make basic decisions for his team like who starts at QB. I saw someone post something about the owner and GM castrating DW; well you can't castrate a porn star and then expect him to perform...sorry for the joke but this game was just that.

he wouldn't do that... he'd be better off just doing nothing and collecting the $$... plus if he "resigns" mid-year, he seriously hurts his chances of getting a job as a coordinator somewhere else.

but, with the way everything's gone this year, i wouldn't be surprised... thats all we need, someone ELSE to abandon us.
