ROHAN DAVEY, LSU

Height: 6-3Weight: 240Birthdate: April 14, 1978ANALYSISDavey has excellent arm strength and can take big hits. In 2001, he led LSU to an 10-3 record and its first SEC title since 1986. Completed 217 of 367 passes for 3,347 yards and 18 touchdowns, all school records. Build is similar to that of Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper. He can throw deep, but is not very consistent with accuracy, and forces throws at times. There are some questions about his durability, but some experts think could he turn out to be a steal. WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"Rohan Davey is a big quarterback that needs to drop some weight and reshape his body structure. He has an outstanding arm, is a leader and a winner."
Vinny Cerrato, Redskins director of player personnel
"The big question about Davey is poor footwork. He is all arm when he throws the football and doesn't use his body. When Davey has hard-charging defensive linemen draped all over him, he throws strikes because he is used to throwing the ball off balance."
Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN MOMENTUMDavey showed up 11 pounds above his playing weight at the Senior Bowl. But he's got the tools, and by dropping some weight, gaining experience and with some good coaching, could become a solid NFL quarterback.

I think Davey might be a bit of an upgrade from what we have depth wise. I'd rather stand pat though, and see what happens with this season and go from there. There will be plenty of options for our " QB of the future " after the season is over.IMO

Personally, I've never been impressed with the guy.
He's had a whole crew on Finheaven here all over his jock for years though so who knows.

I agree, I don't think he's an upgrade. And being as this offense is a Scott Linehan Offense , it is not as if Rohan would have any advantage in knowing the offense from his previous tenure with Saban.

No thanx. We need someone that can THROW THE BALL in this offense. Of course with our OL, until proven otherwise, we need someone that can run also but...............Davey is no better than we already have. Just because he is big and different than we have now is not a reason to get him.IMHO

Nothing like trolling other teams rejects in order to find our starting QB. I hope we learn sooner or later. :-(

I would perfer to take Couch over Davey right now. I think that Davey is highly overrated because of the fact that he played great in NFLE. Davey is likely just a 3rd stringer and i don't want another 3rd stringer on this team.

The would be the most Spurrier move ever and miy least favorite of the moves he has done. Daniels in the draft.....Josh Shaw free agency now DAVEY?? No thanks first two were good this would be a wasted pickup of a former player....oh Shoot lets just get Matt Mauck at least he won a national title.

Me too, I agree he is an upgrade to SAGE or BERLIN...other than that, just another third string QB....He'd be no use to us this year...Maybe next year, but that's a long way off...

I think he's a stiff...

I said this in another thread....if he is so good then why is he behind a 50 year old and a guy who never took a snap in college on the depth chart...

I'll pass t.y.v.m.

Agreed. From what I've read he may get cut because the Pats like this young QB from USC (I think he backed up Leinart) better.
So, in essence a guy coming out of college as a backup (like Feeley) gets the nod over Rohan Davey, and there are those who think we should consider him????
Are these the same people who have been bashing Feeley and citing his relative lack of starter credentials?
