All the rampid talk of us releasing David Bowens was driving me nuts, so I did the usual post-midnight eastern time search of the palm beach post, sun sentinel, and miami herald for news.

Absolutely nothing about David Bowens being let go.

He is a Dolphin for at least another day.

Personally, I hope we keep him.

I don't think any Florida teams made any moves today.

I wouldn't mind keeping David Bowens if he restructures his contract, which is very possibly. I remember reading that he's looking for an extension, I'm not sure what's that all about. But is it also true that he said he would take a pay cut?? I don't have a link, but I think I remember reading that here earlier today.

Let's just hope he lets his wife change all of his lightbulbs from now on.

Actually guys, the term "June 1st Cuts" is kinda decieving. What it really means is that teams can cut players AFTER June 1st, so teams couldn't start cutting players UNTIL the NFL offices closed today, which was at 4:00pm. So, most teams will wait to make their cuts on June 2nd.

Thats right Nublar.I was going to make the same point.

GREAT POINT LETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED I DON'T WANT TO CUT ANYONE. :cooldude:

I can see a move such as one that if a player becomes available that Saban wants and gets for decent money, he will then cut Bowens. Alot of our moves have been to get rid of one person while getting another. When you are in control of the cap, like we are now, then you can afford to sit back and watch what unfolds and then make your move.

I don't believe Bowens will be cut until we need his cap room to sign someone. We may not need his caproom and keep him for depth on the D-Line, because you can never have enough.

I really dont see us cutting Bowens this early. I think that Bowens will compete with Holliday during TC. Which ever one doesnt win will be cut.

Not happening. Holliday and David Bowens are going to be filling completely different roles. Holliday, Carter, and Vickerson will be lining up pretty much exclusively inside the Offensive Tackles, at LDE or Undertackle in the 4-3 and DE in the 3-4. Jason Taylor and David Bowens will be playing outside of the tackles, and sometimes standing up as linebacker.

I'm not sure which Matt Roth is going to do, but I think he is going to fall into the outside the tackles, speed rusher/OLB type.
