The Texans are the 2nd team rumored to be looking at Ricky. If they trade for him, that means they wouldnt draft Reggie Bush, which will shake up everybody's draft board. But, that also means that they would probably draft a QB. That said, Carr wouldnt fit in to their plans because of how much they owe him. I still see the Carr-Williams trade intriguing for this reason. They would have to release Carr anyway, so this way they get value. We don't get a pick, but we would have our Qb without having to draft one.

I was thinking that earlier. Both teams get what they want AND keep their draft picks. I'm all for it

They would have to weigh the situation like this:

Do we want 1) Ricky Williams and Vince Young (the fans would favor this) or 2) David Carr and Reggie Bush.

It's a tough choice, and the fan vote would definatley go towards option #1......but with the uncertainty surrounding how many years Ricky wants to continue to play....I'd have to go with option 2.

I think they may look at someone like ricky and then try and get D-Brick. JMO

Not without trading down and taking their chances. No way they use the first overall on an OL.

Well if they were going to take D-Brick then they would trade down. I am sure someone would jump up there and grab Reggie or Lienart Maybe Young. I like the trade idea for alot of reason. I just don't think its gunna work. They are determined to get Reggie Bush and if they don't Fans will not be happy. I have heard that alot of people in Houston don't like Carr alot. Carr would be great for us and Ricky would be great for them. They would also have a great Back-up for Ricky and then they would more than likely take Lienart in the Draft. It would be great, But I don't see it happening.

I'd take that in a second.

Well, compare what you'd have in each situation. Trade Carr for Ricky, draft Leinhart/Young. You now have: an unproven pro QB a solid, talented RB ...both of whom are playing behind a horrible o-line Keep Carr, take Bush. You now have: a fairly solid QB (when he has time) an unproven but very talented back ...both of whom are playing behind a horrible o-line. Tade Carr for Ricky, pick up McCown in FA, trade down to draft D'Brick and pick up a later pick or other player. You know have: a QB of fairly comparable quality to Carr a solid, talented RB the anchor to develop a solid young line ...and another bonus, be it a pick or a solid young player at a need position You tell me which you'd rather have. Unfortunately, bad teams stay bad for a reason: the fans will go berserk if you don't blow big money on the 'Savior' with the #1 pick. Even though I think the franchise will be better off doing the third option or something similar (like keeping Carr and Davis but just trading down to get D'Brick), they're almost certain the draft Bush or Young with the pick...and then continue to consistently get the crap kicked out of them. [edit] I have this nicely formatted in the composition window, why does it show up as one confusing block of text?
