Another cheater. Let's hear from Curt Schilling now!!! Curt likes to run his yap whenever a name comes out of a cheater. Let's see him throw his teammate under teh bus and the guy who put a ring on his finger.

Yeah, does anyone still believe the reason Ortiz lost his power is due to his "wrist injury". ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

fugg the red sox. had a suspicion this one was coming.

this whole steroids thing just needs to go away. just about everybody did it at some point - we get it. let me enjoy baseball again for the love of God.

*yawn*

I'm with BobDole here. I'm over it. No big deal if you ask me. Everyone was doing steroids. Level playing field in my opinion. People have been cheating in some fashion for decades. Hell, Pud Galvin was experimenting with types of steroids in the late 1800's.

Ortiz said this past Winter anyone caught doing steroids should be suspended for a year. OK, so I expect David to be a MAN OF HIS WORD and not play another game till August 2010.

And Curt Schilling who was all over the media saying any guy caught on roids should have their records taken away. All the victories their teams had are tainted and shouldn't count. NOW, on his website and blog today he is back tracking so fast its funny. Changing his tune. He's another cheater and I can wait till Schilling gets caught and it becomes public he failed a test a few years back.

The Boston Roid Sox are hillarious today!!

Think it's a personal decision of David Ortiz to be a man of his word? How do you think the Red Sox as an organization would feel about Ortiz's decision to be a man of his word when he's not in their lineup for the playoff run? Think they might fine him for such actions? Breach of contract much? And you can't taint an entire team because a couple of guys were taking steroids. Weren't a few players on that Rockies squad also guilty of equal infractions?

Water is wet. Over it.

the lesson to be learned is............he who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones

David Ortiz, Curt Schilling, John Henry......and all who took JOY in the Yanks steroid stories now need to sit down and shut up forever!!!

Jason Giambi
Gary Sheffield
Alex Rodriguez
Roger Clemens
Andy Pettite
Chuck Knoblauch

and I believe only Clemens was supposed to have used during the Championship years. Petttite supposedly began in 2002, Knoblauch in 2001, Sheff wasn't a Yankee, ARod wasn't a Yankee, Giambi wasn't a Yankee. Ortiz and manny were red Sox players when caught.

All teams had PED users and STILL DO(where there is smoke there is fire w/ that Sox story from last year that just came out). it was silly for Sox fans and other Yankee haters to say the Yank titles were tainted and now they are getting it thrown right back at them and it's funny. We all knew manny and ortiz were using but sox fans continued to tell us PEDs were a Yankee problem b/c they believed the biased Mitchell report.

Ortiz is a hypocrite to boot....Mr. "they should ban anyone who tests positive for a year"...what an ***.

Do fans really have the best perspective on steroids? Fans want their teams to win. They don't care if their team has cheaters. Fans just want the best cheaters.

speak for yourself.

Not speaking for myself. I'm speaking in general terms here. Fans absolutely want the best cheaters.

Example A:

Remember back when Barry Bonds was planting homers out in the bay? People were lined up in canoes and all kinds of jazz. Barry has the steroid finger pointed at home and who ridicules him the most? Dodger fans. But the Giants fans still love him and defend their player despite the fact that everyone else could OBVIOUSLY see it. Now, flip the script here. Manny Ramirez get busted for taking steroids, he's still planting homers into "MANNYWOOD" and the Dodger fans are eating him up. They love it. Dodger fans can't get enough of the steroid-accused hero when they were banging on Bonds for the same **** a few years earlier.

Example B:

Take a look at the great Roger Clemens in his later years with the Yankees. Then he's accused of steroids and the Yankee fans still love him. Red Sox fans bang on him, and Yankee fans defend him. So now recently, David Ortiz is accused of steroids and all of a sudden we have a complete 180 of the fan bases' opinions (ie: this thread). Fans will almost always defend their player because fans want to win. These are just facts.

I'm not defending cheating. I don't like anymore than you may. I'm a fan of the game. I know cheating is happening. It's no secret. Damn near all of them were doing it. But it is what it is. And when your guy is doing it, you'll be a little more understanding.

Remember when Ricky Williams failed his drug test and the Jets, Bills, and Patriots laughed and banged on Dolphin fans for having a pothead on their team? Most of us defended Ricky. Why.
