The rookie cap is such BS. Negotiated on behalf of people with no say in it.

They do have a say in it. They can say "no thanks, I won't take that offer and will forgo my chance to play in the NFL." Same way when a company has a pay range for the position you are applying for. You can always say no to the offer and go look for work elsewhere at another company. In this case the other company is the CFL or to get into coaching somehow.

Our run defense should be significantly improved with him in the middle and ends who can set the edge. Our linebackers should be much more active as well.

Davis was my least favorite pick in the whole draft. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't have high hopes.

If he can eat up 2 blockers consistently than it is a pick well spent. Having edge rushers who can set the edge and an interior guy eating up blockers will do wonders for the defense. My guess is that is why Flores was so excited.

A free college education is getting screwed??!! Bet you didn't pay for yours or you didn't get one!! Still paying my college loans back - no sympathy for people that get a free education, and then cry about that set up. I don't care how much money the players think they make for the college.

Agreed. If you are gifted enough to get a scholarship you are ahead of 99.9999999% of everyone else. As a parent paying for two kids in college right now I just see it as these kids have the world in their hands.

I hope Davis turns out to be everything Flores got all excited about on draft day. Not expecting much from this guy. I love his ability from a run stop standpoint. Hopefully the light comes on as a pro and he suddenly plays like he did 3 yrs ago as a sophomore.

I understand why Flores was excited, but in my opinion, Davis wasn't worthy of a second round pick. His college production got progressively worse. I know what they want his role to be but I don't see him as even being capable of demanding much attention from opposing offensive lines.

I worry that the light may never turn on especially if Saban couldn’t get it out of him. My guess is that he will be a run stuff specialist and nothing more. Was meh on the Jackson and Igbinoghene picks, but really didn’t like this pick. Hope I’m wrong.
