I remember i wanted the fins to pick him instead of Jason Allen .

He play's S/CB , he could be a pretty good pick up .

He had character issues in college , but has been clean during hs couple o years in the NFL.

He was released because of weight issues . He was weighing 230LBS .

I really would like us to sign him , to add more youth to our defense . He can play two positions ,so that would help a lot too .

You want to sign a 230 pound CB/S with attitude problems who has been cut by a team that is worse than us?

Hey, he's young and was talented in college. I always say go for signing guys like Williams. Maybe he just needs the right coaching, who knows. But there is a reason he was rated so highly coming out of college.

Couldn't really hurt and our secondary isn't exactly a powerhouse

And exactly what leads you to think he would contribute? I mean, tell me the good stuff, heck maybe even a link to some footage of this guy doing his thing? Substantiate your request, i would love to see some video.

He showed up for voluntary workouts weighing more than 230 pounds, and he was arrested last year for marijuana possession at a time when the club was reeling from the Mike Vick dog-fighting fiasco.

Ummm sounds EXACTLY like a player from VaTech......no thank you

In all fairness, we are worse then Falcons. In the words of the great Parcells "We are what our record says we are" or something like that lol.

But seriously, it couldn't hurt. Maybe the guys we have here can help turn him around. He was talented, still is.

Not much too lose really. Shouldn't be demanding too much of a salary

I would argue that today, on paper, we're better. But regardless, he was cut by a very bad team.

Dont think it could hurt we have some pretty bad guys in secondary now.

Well, I am not saying the guy will be great or anything. I am not saying he isn't a bust. All I am saying is you just never know. He is a low risk high reward guy.

Our secondary could be solid next season or it could be horrible.

Bell- Who knows if he can stay healthy
Allen- Looked solid the last half of last year hopefully he can continue
Hill- Solid but who knows how well he will be
Crocker- Back up player
Will Allen- Who knows with his legal issues
Goodman- If healthy will be solid, but he's gotta be healthy
Daniels- We know about him

A guy like Williams is worth a shot because he is young and talented. Who knows what our secondary will look like. If everyone stays healthy we will be fine. But if Will Allen goes down for the season our CB'S now look horrible.

It's worth a shot to atleast look at a DB who can play both CB and Safety

Is this another, "He sucks for another team so let's sign him thread" God I love the off-season.

wow.... thats a little extreme.... three players from VT that are considered trouble.... two of them in the same family

im sure you could find atleast 3 players from any other D1 school that are trouble... and considering the amount of good character players that come out of VT ... thats definintly a ridiculous statement

Being a Virginia Tech student and knowing many players on the football team (excellent people mind you), I took that personally

also, being cut by a bad team would mean minimum salary which equals.. low risk, high reward

how could it hurt just giving him a shot? im tired of hearin all these people sayin WHY LOOK AT HIM? HE GOT CUT ... HE SUCKS
.....heaven forbid we take a look at him, and he sucks that bad... then WE CAN JUST CUT HIM AS WELL ... no big deal

Exactly

The only thing I could come up with is this college hit

there was another annoying video montage of highlights where he did impressively run a guy down and tackle him from behind saving a touchdown.

Other than that, I don't know much about him.

Wikipedia says he was busted for possession of Marijuana. While I personally have zero problems with people who smoke, when your job is at stake along with millions of dollars of investments in a team and the hearts of fans, it does seem very irresponsible (and we have been down that path).

If he is really cheap and we have the space (that is we cut someone who is clearly crappy), it may be worth considering, but if I were the trifecta, I wouldn't waste my time and go out of my way to contact him. If his agent calls with a very very inexpensive offer and they guy was willing to put in extra time with the conditioning coaches, then maybe...

Keith Traylor played LB then move to DT while in the NFL
We have a FB whose a former defense player

Sign to practice teach him how to play LOB
