DC candidates in the college ranks?

What college coaches do you guys think are good candidates for the DC job if it is open at the end of the season?

I follow Big Ten football and think that Pat Fitzgerald would be a home run hire. D.J Durkin doesn't have the longest resume, but what he's doing at Michigan as their DC is really impressive. That team is not as talented as they are playing.

Who else do you guys like?

Patterson has to be trending way, way down. TCU's defense this year is as bad as I have ever seen.

They do here in SLC and sometimes the offense shows up.

I think thats is symptom of the conference. Sadly, that is the way the NFL is heading.

Yeah they do in some places. Gators DC Geoff Collins has his defense playing top notch D and causing havoc.

I think thats is symptom of the conference. Sadly, that is the way the NFL is heading.

It is a spread conference, but they looked pretty helpless against SMU, and K State's offense is, to be polite "limited." Whittingham is def getting it done at Utah, though.

Todd Grantham ran a 1 gap attack style 3-4 that is worth looking at. I'd wonder is SUH could excel in such a 1 gap system.

Urban would be interesting. Maybe it is time he makes the jump after his success in college now for three teams

Only if he agrees to have an offensive coordinator and is never given GM responsibilities. He has been fantastic at FSU but he can be outcoached as he was in the playoffs last year.

Honestly, I hope he stays at FSU. It's better for FSU and I just don't see him as a great NFL coach.

I think Dantonio at Michigan State might be an amazing NFL coach. He would be my fist choice from the college ranks.
