DeAngelo Williams sets NCAA record

Williams set an NCAA record with his 34th 100-yard rushing game and scored three touchdowns, leading Memphis to a 38-31 victory over Akron in the Motor City Bowl on Monday.

Williams ran for 233 yards on 30 carries and finished his career with 6,021 yards rushing - trailing only Ron Dayne, Ricky Williams and Tony Dorsett in Division I-A history - and an NCAA-record 7,568 all-purpose yards.

no ones the next tomlinson easily...hes still in college so its debatable but instead of bashing you im just pointing that out...i also feel he is severely underrated and could be the next tomlinson

Who knows, he might end up better than Tomlinson. I have seen this kid play live....AMAZING talent.

Not saying that D'Angelo will be the next "Tomlinson", but one fact to consider: Tomlinson was out of a non-BCS school in TCU (home of the "horned frogs").

LaDainian is in his 5th NFL season, and is at 5'10", 221 lbs.

DeAngelo Williams is 5'10", 217 this year at Memphis

I also would like to add that me and Drew (outtawack311) did witness DeAngelo live. This guy would've demolished UCF if the Tigers didn't fall behind so early. In a losing effort, he had around 150 yards.

I really don't see him as "special", but he is a good, solid player. Poor man's Tomlinson (not an insult).

DeAngelo is awesome...Living right near Memphis I have seen him play numerous over the year in person and also watch almost every game on tv that I'm not at...If Memphis could have stayed in some games this year and last year and not gone behind early you could be talking about the Ncaa Rushing Record holder but he has never had a strong supporting cast around him Aka this year when they lost 2 qb's in 2 games and moved wr to qb(Avery) He is easilly a steal of the draft if he falls past 15 and who knows...We may be looking at the next Lt

I don't think so, I've seen them both play over the past two years and I love Maroney and the way he runs but Deangelo Williams is an LT clone almost.

The only thing I don't like about him is he dosn't run with the power I would expect from a guy with his size. He seems to be more of a speed guy than one would expect. But there were knocks on LT as well and he turned out alright.
