Dear beloved Dolfans,
Please relax, yes this game was abissmal, a horrible dissapointment, but it will be the last of its kind for this season. Where as last year it came in the tenth game of the season when it was too late, we have seen this year's rock bottom in week 2. If you watch closely, Daunte had a nice completion percentage (71%). He showed he can get the yards he needs in the last two weeks. Ronnie looks GREAT, he is a moster who runs through holes, breaks tackles and doesnt mind sharing the load or taking it on himself, not to mention is there any question the guy can catch and run like any back in the league? Our recievers are explosive and wes welker looks like he will be a big player in 2006, much improved from previous years.
So, why did we get BEAT today you ask? Simple, a new o line that needs to start gellin, an eager qb wanting to prove himself a little too much, and a secondary that needs some help. These are all things that were a problem last year in our 3-7 point. But they were ironed out with time and experience. The o line needs to gel again because its relatively new, and a key injury to mckinney makes it so that were woekin on the center position, the most complex position on the line...As far as Cpep goes. He improved from last game, got his first td score and one less INT,much better completion percentage. He will realize its time to calm down and stop trying to be super man on every play, as soon as he stops forcing the issue, we will have a MONSTER qb.
Mularkey:I distinctely remember how much we all LOATHED Linehans inability to run the football at this point last year, we were all calling for his head. At the end of the season, we loved our offense. Its the same thing with Mularkey, he needs to get on the same page with Saban, and Saban wont take long to tell him what he expects in the future like he did with Linehan. Before long, Mularkey will do as Linehan and move down to the field, and start calling the game the way Saban sees it. We will see much improved offensive calling starting NEXT WEEK.
Our secondary will struggle all year, they lag behind the rest of the team in terms of skill. Yet as long as they minimize the STUPID big play, we will be ok. Our front seven is good enough to get us in favorable 3rd down situations, our secondary juts needs to learn to hold on when it realy counts.
All in all my friends, we will have a good season. These things will be corrected way before we can get to 3-7. we will be a solid team who just got slapped in the face with a wake up call. Not to mention we have much more favorable things to look forward to. Such as Wes Welker, we now have three threats at reciever, and other teams know this. We wil be a good team, so relax, save your "most embarassing game ever" thread for another season, because this is just what we needed. :dolphins:
