Chad Henne Scouting Report by Mostly
Cons: His deep ball tends to sail somewhat. He isn't very mobile. More importantly, has a slight hitch in his wind up. Henne will throw the bone headed interception every so often, and looks like a fish out of water when the pocket collapses.

Cons: Accuracy has kept Henne from developing into a top draft pick for 2008. At Michigan, he had two talented receivers in Manningham and Arrington, but failed at times to convert drives into scores for the wolverines against mediocre defenses throughout his collegiate career. He needs to be able to read defenses better and avoid costly interceptions under duress.

Cons: Is in trouble when the pocket collapses, The "Big Game" has caused problems, Not a fiery leader,No mobility, he uses his arm strength too much and tends to overthrow.

I was at the game and this article is right on point. Henne made some horrific throws. The two interceptions in the endzone were god awful. This was one of the complaints about him when he came out of UM - his lack of consistency. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the future.
NASHVILLE -- ``Too much bad early,'' explained Tony Sparano.
Nope.
Too much bad late.
Too much bad on one pass by quarterback Chad Henne at exactly the wrong time is what fashioned the Dolphins' sudden death here Sunday -- of game, and of season.
Miami's players and coaches were working awfully hard to protect Henne from blame after this 27-24 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans, the one that leveled the season record at 7-7 and leveled -- as in crushed -- realistic playoff hopes.
The effort to insulate Henne was noble and pointless.
This game and this season were in his hands, literally, and he threw both away. Sometimes it is best not to obscure the truth.
The overtime pass wobbled and sailed. It was not tipped. It was not carried by some sinister gust. It was simply a really lousy pass that, in an instant, made a Music City Meltdown of Miami's Music City Miracle.
Henne, the youthful first-year starter, might become a great QB for a long, long time.
Sunday, though, what he was when it mattered most was a guy who had a chance to be a hero, to write an ending that is the early stuff of legend, and let it get away from him.

Here's what they were saying when he was at the Senior Bowl practices:
* I love Mike Mayock from the NFL Network as I think he's one of the best draft guys around, but Chad Henne #2 at QB? He's showing a good arm in practice, but big deal? Everyone knows that. The problem for Henne is that he doesn't show great composure when the pocket starts to break down and that is a major concern on the next level. Henne overthrew a wide open Virg. Tech's Eddie Royal badly on one on ones and threw a few other balls short.

Well the dream wasn't even imaginable the way Pennington started the season . . . Henne provided a spark . . . and I honestly believe Pennington would NOT of had us here.

For those who said he has NO mobility....obviously they were wrong....he's not Vy, but he's far from Peyton Manning either.

There is a reaon he was availible at the bottom of the 2nd round....he's got flaws, no doubt about that. The only question is can he get it fixed? We're not going to know for a while.

Would be a whole lot easier to find out if he had recievers who could get open in under 5 seconds....

I'm a Gator fan, but I'm mad he's not a very good QB. He's been this player since his Michigan days and he beat a very bad/very young UF team in the CapOne Bowl.

I mean are u guys saying Henne is not a good QB serious?

He was TOLD by Sparano to take chances down the field . . . yea he needs to make better decisions, but Henne IMO clearly has the goods to be a solid QB.

He has the skills, but he doesn't have it between the ears. There's a reason why his first round arm was available in the late 2nd.

I refuse to believe a 4 year starter at Michigan and a first year NFL starter who has a 7-4 record (with one of the league's toughest schedules) doesn't have IT between the ears.

I am more likely to believe that he is a "first year" starter with injuries to our starting RB and no real playmaker at TE or WR. . . and he is liable to make mistakes . . . especially when his coach wants him to take more chances down the field.

John Beck has talent . . . he just needed 7 seconds every snap . . . and when he didn't get that, he was a mess. Chad Henne is on another level.

You can refuse to believe whatever you like. I watched a ton of his games in college along with having some friends that were huge Ohio State fans. They LOVED facing Chad Henne to decide the winner of the Big Ten.

I watched alot of Michigan games too, and the kid always had the knack of coming back and making big time throws.

And they played some close games in that rivalry . . . Ohio State had alot of talent those years also.

It is what it is man.

Sigh, I knew coming in here this morning it there would be a bunch of BBQ Chad Henne threads going.

For heavens sake people, it is for all intents and purposes his rookie season as a starter in the NFL. Yes, he threw some bad passes yesterday. However, everyone quickly forgets that he threw some really good balls out there too. He never gave up and still almost rallied us back to another come from behind win. He fell short, it happens, get over it.

Everyone is just to damn quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater. He is 7-4 in his first season and 3 of those wins are 4th quarter comeback wins. There is a lot of talent there to build on.

At Michigan, the talent advantage they had over every team in the Big 10 outside of Ohio State was astonishing. They never should've had to come back. Henne is not a smart QB and I don't think he's a franchise QB. I think at best he's a guy that can be like Jake Delhomme in his prime. He'll put up some solid numbers, but he'll also do some baffling things that will make you want to shoot him.

It really comes back to a few things for me. He has a 1st round arm, but a 4th round brain. That's why he was taken late in the 2nd round. This isn't a situation like Drew Brees where he's got physical limitations that lowered his draft stock. The guy doesn't have the smarts to be an elite QB IMO. He can be a very good one and probably give us a few Pro Bowl season, but I don't think he'll lead us to the promised land.

This is stupid... All I know is that this team is a more exciting team than I've seen in years... Henne is great... I look forward to next year

This toughest schedule bit is getting old, thats off of last years records, Tenn, Pitt, NE, Carolina, Jets, Atlanta all have struggled compared to last season. that being said, those reports look to be dead on target for what Henne is right now. I hope they can fix it, he sure does have some tools to work with.
