I just got to watch the preseason game against the jags that it dvr'ed and i saw something very interesting. on our first defensive series saban had already subed in about 6 different players other than our starters. maybe thats just how hes doing it for preaseason. alot of people have been debating who will start at many positions for us on defense. maybe we wont have a definite starter? we have many guys that could come in and contribute on defense. kinda like how the steelers were. let me know what you think.
 
There will be plenty of rotations at every single position we have. Our offensive line, 3-5 WR spots, defensive line and secondary will all have almost a platoon effect I think. We are very deep and I expect to see a lot of players see significant time. The player with the hot hand will play. I'm excited to see which of these "bubble players" will emerge as a regular starter.

To be honest.. I think most of the positions are settled.. give or take a few defensive backs and a few linemen. as far as 1st string goes.
 
I'll go ahead and post my prediction for the 22 opening day starters.

Offense
QB: Daunte Culpepper*
RB: Ronnie Brown*
FB: Fred Beasley*
WR: Chris Chambers*
WR: Marty Booker*
TE: Randy McMichael*
LT: L.J Shelton*
LG: Jeno James*
C: Rex Hadnot*
RG: Bennie Anderson
RT: Vernon Carey

Defense
DE: Kevin Carter*
DT: Vonnie Holliday*
DT: Keith Traylor
DE/OLB: Jason Taylor*
SLB: Donnie Spragan
MLB: Zach Thomas*
WLB: Channing Crowder*
CB: Will Allen*
CB: Travis Daniels
FS: Jason Allen
SS: Renaldo Hill*

*= I'm 100% sure they will be starting. That's what I think any way.
 
it was preseason game 1... yes we will have rotations to keep players fresh (especially with our age on the Dline) but we will have definate starters, and you'll know who they are come the 3rd preseason game...

the 1st preseason game cant really tell you anything...

I don't know. Saban seemed aggrevated at halftime that the Jags played their starters so much longer than he did. I don't think he will risk anyone but he might not mix things up as much or as often until the other team does.

Nah, we're moving Olindo Mare into JT's spot. slick huh? He's going to kick anybody who gets in the way. :lolcry:
 
Very interesting Vertical Limit. You have Goodman over Daniels and Wilkinson over Traylor. I wouldn't disagree with Wilkinson but I really don't think Goodman beats out Daniels (unless Travis' injury is serious.) By the way, I didn't mind. LOL.

That will definantly :confused: the offense for a play or 2 so I guess you win this one. Congrats.
 
I wouldn't count Barnes out. He looked really good that first game.

IMO if this trend continues Beasly gets cut
