I have never been o Miami but I am going to bring my son down there all the way from Ohio and was wondering if El Palacio Sports Hotel is a decent place to stay. I dont need a 5 start hotel just a decent place that doesnt smell.

Just curious if any of you have stayed there or know anything about it. I have read reviews and most of them seem to be ok. Also how far is it from the stadium. It says 7 blocks but is it walking distance or what?

Thanks for any information you can provide me.

never stayed there, but dont recommend it. stay at a hampton inn or something like that if ya dont want anything fancy

I have never stayed. But i think other people on this borad have said that is not a good place to stay. You may want to look for another place.

a lot of panthers players have family that stay there during hockey season... its a hot spot for getting autographs from NHL people.. soooo its probably alright but ive never stayed there and its really close to the dolphins stadium like 10 minute drive..

Thanks for the link jim1. Looks OK but I'd say not walking distance.

I came over from Australia last year and stayed in Miami Lakes, about the same distance but in the other direction. I walked for a good hour after the game then caught a taxi.

I might be coming over again and will probably be in Miami during that same weekend. If that happens, I'll be staying near the stadium.

Can anyone reccommend a better place to stay that is close to the stadium? I know nothing about Miami and keep in mind I am bringing my 12 year old son.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood

Walking from El Palacio will probably take you like 15 minutes. I wouldnt recommend it for a night game though. I wouldnt walk anywhere in that neighborhood at night

Is the neighborhood around the stadium rough? I parked at an apartment complex my last time out and gave a kid (had to be 15 or so) $15 bucks to park there. Seemed shady but others were parking in the area and the kid jumped out in front of my car. I've stayed at a Days Inn in Lauterdale that wasn't bad, spent a lot of time at a place called Arubas which was walking distance.

If I were you I would go on priceline and bid on a hotel in Hollywood. Hollywood is close with nice enough hotels (not enough to walk though). You can check what hotels to you can expect to get when you bid by going to biddingfortravel.

I wouldnt say its New York style bad, but you probably dont want to walk around there in the dark. The stadium isnt in Lauderdale. Its in Northern Dade county. I've never seen anyone park at people's lawns at Landshark. Its up to you. I doubt anything happens, but just warning you.

For day games, I recommend it as its cheaper though
