Well every year I hear how Miami will collapse in December, and how they can never win down the stretch. We I know its only Buffalo, which has not been playing their best games recently, but still, we were down 20 and came back in a december game that technically kept us in a playoff hunt with NE. (yes I know we would need to basically win out and have NE stumble, but it is possible.)

So he's to the new Saban Dolphins, who shine in December.

The whole December collapse thing was a lie/myth to begin with. Something used by the Miami media to beat up their favorite team to hate the Miami Dolphins.

how is that a myth? the recent teams always started 4-1 and ended 9-7, 10-6

Haha...I was just thinking about this yesterday!! Anybody who disagrees with the december collapse wasnt following the phins in the past 5 years...it is VERY EVIDENT we did terrible in december. A big reason for this is because we always played NE and Buff away in december when it was snowing but still...we are starting off december very well! Lets keep it up!

Who knows what will happen--anything could happen--we could be winning by a score and lose, we could win after losing by 21 points at the half. We could even get a healthy lead and keep it. I looked at the game when we were 14-0 down and still felt that we would win. i didn't think we would cut it that close though :D

The Dolphins rarely had a losing December. However that was not the story the media portrayed. Does that answer your question?

No it's not. Over the last 5 years our record in December was not much different than our record during the season.

Over the past 5 years we posted a 58.9% regular season record before Dec.1 and a 52.1% regular season record after Dec. 1. It doesn't seem like that much of a collapse to me.

There was a bigger difference prior to the Wanny years. The story just stuck around long after it was relevant.

The time of year had nothing to do with it... I believe it was called, "The Wanny Curse"

cant collapse this year cause we aren't in playoff contention.
LoL, thats what i was going to say... we have nothing to collapse from!

just like last year..... and as someone else said, its a myth thing anyway that we let get into our heads to self-destruct.

I think the biggest emphasis was on cold games in December like @ NE or @ BUF, we were home yesterday, then we're in SD, and then we're at home against the Jets, and then our only cold game (Jan 1. to be exact) is in NE. So the end of the schedule this year for once has been in our favor, unfortuately... we're not in the best shape right now and division hopes are slim but still possible.

I think it has a lot to do with the minimum contact practices Saban has installed. I think our players lost their legs near the end of the season because JJ and Wanny would grind them into the ground during offseason drills.
