Something different is going on this year. Traditionally, all our hopes are high early in the season as we plow out of the gate to a 8-1, type of start, only to end up 9-7 or 10-6 and eeek into the playoffs.
But this year something strangly different is happening. We were all crushed in week 1 when they lost to Houston, then we got our hopes back with a couple nice wins. Then we went down again hard with the losses to New England, Indy, and Tennessee. Many of us thought it was over.
The thing is, we always take December swoon...but this year, especially with a win in Dallas, we will have something we've never had...DECEMBER MOMENTUM. That is what takes a team to the end. Early season momentum is meaningless at this point.
Case in point... think back to Denver the year before they won their two superbowls in the late 90's. They were so strong early on that they actually clinched their division TOO early in the season. They rested their starters the final two weeks...a huge mistake. That rest made them lose all their momentum. They lost against Jacksonville in the first round.
This could be the year! Momentum is EVERYTHING!
