Decision On Mitchell To Be Made Today

im anxious to see him. had high hopes for him predraft; love his speed. I hope he can return this year.

cant be worse than howard. i dont care who blows the coverage, as long as i dont see #25 chasing a WR and missing a diving tackle. i hope he gets promoted

He has to be better than Reggie Howard. I wonder if they add Mitchell to the roster, they may cut Howard?

Mitchell would probably be better than Howard with the two ligamnets hanging out of his knee while high on crank. I hope he plays.

Just to add to this thought... would it have been worse if we had added T Buckley to the mix a few weeks ago?

Yes. The Pats are in worse shape then we are and they didn't sign Buckley either.

I really hope we get to see him play. I was excited about getting him undrafted. Heres an old article from when we picked him up....good stuff.

a ball-hawking, speedy cornerback who was projected to be drafted in the fourth or fifth round before injuring his knee during a "Pro Day" workout in March.

Mitchell, who has posted sub 4.4 forty yard dash speed and can bench press 225 pounds nearly 20 times, is being dubbed as a "good risk" by the Dolphins head coach. Saban is prepared to hold Mitchell out for an entire year if need be, even though he could be ready to play as early as August of this year. According to what the coach has seen in tapes, Mitchell has excellent ball skills and is well-suited to cover the deep ball.

I had no idea we even signed this guy. This is exciting news. If he works out, with Poole, Daniels, Madison, and now Mitchell, plus a free agent acquisition during the offseason, I would feel a lot more confident about our corners next year.

Plus, it would be a major feat to have constructed a secondary out of late round picks if all three young guys beceom solid players.
