Defense looks vanilla

Anybody know why we are so vanilla on defense? We don’t seem to call so many exotic bltizes. I wonder if it’s a lack of experience and leadership or if Flores has moved on from that scheme?

This d was all scheme last year. Even Flores said last year after half way through teams tape and schemes only work so much. It was smoke and mirrors Last year. I was hoping Phillips would give us more of a pass rush without blitzing. But we have no pash rush except for ogbah. So whatever we run it doesn’t matter. We need pass rush.

They aren’t running many of the schemes and blitz packages they ran last season. Their main consistent scheme seems to be only rushing 3-4 and playing soft coverage behind it, seemingly more so on 3rd downs.
