Thank god. With a defensive mastermind/future hall of fame/ tackle machine/all around bad a$$ player like #54 who needs it. Now that he's gone get that helmet on someone. Yeah, with the scheme change and J.T. moving back a lot of guys will think he will do the job just fine. I don't think so. Being DE he won't have the MLB perspective for the reads you have got to make and I don't see anyone else filling those shoes anytime soon. What do you guys think?? About time? Hate it? Don't care? First thread so blow it up. I went pretty deep and didn't see anyone with the same topic.

9 times out of 10 it's going to be a safety (I would think).

I'm not sure what to think about it atm, but my initial thoughts are that this is a good thing, that it prevents future signal stealing.

It will be a LB IMO. They can change at the line of scrimmage by yelling to the D-line and signalling to the secondary. A safety couldn't do that because no one should be looking at him since he is the last man in the formation. Thank god the Pats can't steal signals anymore.

I beleive they are also allowing one on the sidelines for a back-up incase that defender goes down.

God I hope they dont put a radio inside Channing Crowders helmet.

He is CONFUSED ENOUGH as it is. :sidelol:

I sensealoy of confusion throughout the first few games lol... do u think the pats will try to tap into the helmets and steal plays that way??

hahaah good line with the crowder.. haha but my guess would be porter if the coaches get along with him.. but yea unless you have bob sanders of ed reed.. im doubting a safety

Pretty sure you can have as many as you want, can only have 1 in the game at a time with the "dot" on the back.

Soooooo .... on average how many plays do u think it'll last before the LB's or hard hitting S's microphone breaks each game? I'm gonna predict the 2nd series of plays.

No doubt. Zach would need half dozen a game.

Well from everything i read it is going to have to be someone that is always on the field for the defense and doesnt get substituted.
