Most of the posters on here have indicated they think Miami will draft defense, and those that push offense have targeted WR. I believe if you look at the LB, DL, and CB you will find the targeted areas. WR is really the only spot on offense I see Miami targeting. However, I am beginning to believe Saban will go after the best available athlete. I waiver between the three above mentioned defensive positions, but after looking at the LB depth, I am beginning to believe this may be the area of emphasis.
However, if there was an upset position that would shock you in terms of the draft and Miami's lack of selections what position would it be? I would give the te from Maryland a strong look. Major mismatches on offense with him. I know about the Young option but I like this Davis kid.

honestly at #16 the BPA will either be a LB, DB, DL, WR, OL

I would be happy if we pick any of those positions.

only other positons left are TE,QB,RB and we are covered on all 3..

unless of corse Vernon Davis, Matt Lienart, or Reggie Bush Falls to us, we jump on on eof them real quick!

Vernon Davis is amazing! he will never be there for us at 16. If falls out of the top 8 i would be very suprised.

the problem is our defense could get too old in the blink of an eye

I think we should use our first 3 picks on LB/DT/S/CB

the likely hood of any of the 3 mention above falling out of the top 8 is extremely unlikely.

vernon davis wont make it out of the top ten- i believe since we have weaknesses in three positions that could be solidified in the first round very easily (linebackers, secondary, wide receiver)we will fill one of these positions bc the draft is deep at these positions . wide receiver is not as important to fill than the other two and it is not deep in this years draft. if we get lavar that takes care of olb. this only leaves secondary which is the deepest in the draft. there is at least one guy at each of these positions that i am hoping we get in this order:

Secondary - 1) Huff wont fall so...2) Jimmy Williams 3) Antonio Cromartie
OLB - 1) Ernie Sims - 2) Manny Lawson 3) Chad Greenway
WR - 1) Chad Jackson 2) Santonio Holmes

I agree but if there is more value there in a WR or OL, I think we need to pull the trigger and pass on a lesser player because of his position.

I hate first round WR's, they are busts waiting to happen

we have 4 excellent young players to throw to, meanwhile we have only 1 excellent young LB

I have no problem drafting an center or guard

I am usually a BPA guy, but our defense really needs replenishing

this statement can be made with any position in football.

true but DE, QB and WR are the most notorious

I'm sure I could give you a list of first round WR's in the last 15 years that would scare you

I think the re-signing of McIntosh allows us to move away from OL in the first round (and probably the first day). With that, I think we'll go WR or defense first and whatever we don't get in the first round, we'll go after in the third.

I dunno, if Winston Justice is sitting there at #16, I'm awfully tempted to draft him.
