Deferring the choice until the 2nd half.

Earlier in the season this seemed to be a good stradegy. But many times we started the 3rd quarter by going 3 and out and cancelling out the stradegy.

In the last 3 games we won the toss every time. The offense is the strength of this team NOT the defense. After deferring backfired in the Titans game (trailed 24-6) and the Texan game (27-0) why on earth would you give the ball to the Steelers to start the game?

Not that it would have mattered much but this coaching staff can be set in their ways. Some time you need to switch things up when it isn't working.

Not a good strategy for a team that likes to go down 20 points before they decide to play.

Really it doesn't matter. You get the ball to start a half either way. We're just not executing on our first possession when we get the ball.

I'd rather have the ball first in the second half.

Losing our advantage by going 3 and out to start the second half isn't any worse than losing your advantage by starting 3 and out to start the first half. In fact, if you don't make something happen early on and then you let the other team put some scores up, you're in trouble quick and you don't have the reassurance that you will at least get the ball to start the second half.
