From what I've seen on film and read of him, he has great size and concentration and an eye-popping YPC average but he seems to round off his routes and didn't show up in big games.

What do some of you die hard college football fans/ amateur talent evaluators think of this guy? Is he worth a second or third round pick?

He wont be there in the third and depending who is still on the board i think he would be worth a second

Physical, physical, physical. I love Thomas and I feel he is the second best WR in the draft behind Bryant. He is the most physical receiver I have seen since Anquan Boldin. He catches everything in his hands and not his body, excels in run blocking, gets the ball at it's highest point, and knows how to use his 6'3", 229lbs frame to block out defenders like a basketball player would block out for a rebound.

The knock on hi is that he is going to run probably a 4.6 and that he may struggle to get separation in the NFL and those are valid, but if you watch him play he loses no speed when he puts the pads on. He plays much faster than his times speed and as I mentioned above he knows how to use his big frame to his advantage. For a guy that is going to be knocked for speed he had 4, 70+ yard TD's in 2009.

I really want to see this guy in Miami, I believe his style fits PERFECT for the type of offense Miami wants to run.

I like Thomas, but I like Benn more- Benn is faster and more explosive, both have nearly ideal size. Thomas has made a ton of big plays in that GT offense, be he strikes me as a glider. I'm much more concerned about how Thomas will fare against NFL man coverage than how Benn will.

I agree the speed thing that Benn has is nice, and I haven't seen as much of him as I have Thomas, but there is just something about Thomas to me. He seems to have that "it" factor, besides I love seeing WRs get pancake blocks and I have seen many of those from Thomas.

There are two things about Benn is that scare me. 1) His lack of TDs in college...7 in three years! And 2) His 14.0 YPC average. Neither of these lead you to believe he is a big play receiver.

I watched this video on Thomas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nDhGrYAx5g

It starts out with an awesome block that leads to a TD. Throughout the video you see his physicality (stiff arms). He blocks well and doesn't go down with the first hit (doesn't run out of bounds). You also see him using great concentration and snagging the ball out of the air with his hands. His speed doesn't seem great (seems like a long strider) but he plays fast. He also seems to have a knack for anticipating where the defender will be after he catches the ball.

Of course these were mostly highlights and you can't see him getting off the line so I'm not sure how well he does that.

WRs are the hardest to predict. I've seen so many come out over the years that I was so sure would be great, only to see them out of the league in 2 or 3 years.

Would love to add that kid if we could get him the 2nd round if we have not addressed NT and ILB yet.

I have a serious man crush on this kid this year, I honestly think if he played College Ball almost anywhere else in the country, he would be a serious contender for best reciever in this draft.

I would love if the dolphins were able to pick him up. I do not think he is making it past the second round though, I dont know if the dolphins will pull the trigger so early in the 2nd, I would :).

14 YPC isnt to bad the 7 TD in 3 years isnt good but 14 ypc isnt to bad IMO

and demarious thomas had the advantage of everyone and their mother loading up to try and stop that triple option attack....

he darn well better make plays vs 1 on 1 coverage with no safety help over the top...on those rare instances where they actually put the ball in the air...

that...the rawness of him as a nfl route runner and his speed are all questions for me...

he's the wildcard

3rd favorite WR in the draft behind Bryant and Benn. As stated before, arguably the most physical WR in the draft. Certainly the type that would take 2-3 years to develop, but someone that could develop into a pretty good WR.

If we draft another WR, I think most people would agree that we need someone who the staff thinks will contribute right away. We've all pulled our hair out waiting for Ginn to develop (or never develop however you look at it). I personally cant handle another project at WR, and I dont think this offense gets better until we get someone who can be a 100 catch, 1000+ yard WR.

The physicalness of his game definitely stands out. I love how he breaks tackles and how many yards he gets after the catch. His hands also appear very physical when he catches the ball. I think he falls somewhere between Terrell Owens and Oronde Gadsden.
