Dennis Hickey has been making the media rounds. Here is an interview with Joe Rose:

Seems like Pouncey isn't in danger. I have been a huge detractor of the GM hire and search, but Hickey sounds like an affable guy, and its a good thing he seems to be on the same page as the coach (as much as I may not think the coach is a good one, at least it wont be dysfunctional.) We still don't know whether he is any good at acquiring talent, but here's to hoping...

Decent interview. A lot of typical GM speak and cliche's "We are rolling up our sleeves to win a championship!", but its better than listening to Irish talk out of his ass.

I think the problem with Irish that people had was he barely talked. talked out his ass?

At least the early indications are that they're looking at the right "type" of player. Guys that actually fit the scheme on offense and defense from the interviews that have been reported. It's a nice change to have a GM that actually understands how to evaluate scheme specific players instead of drafting players all willy nilly like. We'll see what happens in free agency and the draft.

When he DID talk, he wasn't the most likeable or astute guy... I probably stood by Irish more than more around here, but in the end he wasn't good at his job. He had no personal skills and assembled the WORST OL in Dolphins history. He did OK in other areas, and was probably still the best GM the Dolphins had since Jimmy Johnson, but that says more of the state of the Dolphins the past decade than it does for his abilities as a GM.

Not everyone is a natural public speaker. He can be bad with interviews if he's good at the rest of his job.

Best player available FOR the Dolphins.. Yes, finally..... Forget about receivers, quarterbacks, defensive ends, kickers, fullbacks and punters because simply, we do not need them this year.
