Denver Post says Detroit will trade 2nd pick only to

I expect Tampa to make a play for the Lion's pick if Johnson is still there. The only other top 10 team which makes sense is Atlanta.

They want a top pick for their defense it seems. They want someone to trade up for CJ and still get their guy.

I Would NOT be upset At All if Miami made a move to get to #2 to draft Calvin Johnson, That's right, Calvin Johnson, not Brady Quinn!!! CJ is as close to a can't miss rookie as you can possibly get....... the guy will be a Superstar very very quickly in the NFL, and a WR of his magnitude only comes around once in a Very Very long time. We can get another QB in the 2nd or even adress the QB position next year, I know, I know we desperately need that franchise QB we have been missing for sooooo long, but I could wait one more year if it meant bringing in such a HUGE weapon at WR. Basically we could move up to draft Quinn and still have the same WR corps that was mediocre at best last year or we could move up to get CJ who tremendously upgrades our WR corps immediately, and then next year get a QB who just may be as good as Quinn. My point is...... Quinn type QB's may be available for us in the near future again, but a Calvin Johnson is so rare there may never be another one within our reach.

id rather calvin then brady. i dont like to gamble on qb's, i said gamble, because thats what drafting a qb is like.

Detroit likely wants Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson.

If we traded up we might not have that early 2nd round pick to get one of the QB's and they could be gone by the end of the 2nd, at least the ones people are talking about.

i agree

i would rather have calvin too

and that would make it so much easier for the QB we draft in the 2nd round or one we bring in

I LOVE THIS IDEA

"Please god bring us CALVIN JOHNSON I PROMISE I WILL NEVER ASKED THE FINS FOR ANYONE ELSE AGAIN"

It's gotten so bad that i have written the fins about different ways we could get him and why it would be worth it

i'm all for drafting another WR that our QBs can't get the ball to

Perfect point.

You guys who want Calvin Johnson learned nothing from watching Randy Moss in Oakland, Earnest Wilford in Jax, all the Redskins receivers, and all the years Detroit drafted top WR's only to have Harrington chucking interceptions.

Having a great WR means nothing without a good QB to run the show, get him the ball, etc.

Our WRs are good, and could look great, if we had a top shelf QB. We don't need Calvin Johnson.

We need a QB, bottom line end of story. :bighug:

People continue to sleep on ARI, who lost Leonard Davis to free agency. They need Joe Thomas bad. Maybe they trade with DET.
