First off, lets assume that we will make a hard run at a good starting QB for next year either in free agency, via a trade or in the draft.

Which of the following scenarios would you prefer?

Trade our first second round draft pick for McNabb- I would not be opposed to this deal. Yes, I am tired of trading for old QBs that are on borrowed time, but McNabb would be the best QB we have had since Marino. He is 31 years old so he should have at least 2 good years left in him and probably would play for 4 more years total. This would allow us to have a good QB while we develope another QB. He did have a few injuries last year yet he still managed to have a QB rating of 89.9.

Drafting Matt Ryan with our 1st round pick- This would be the worst move for us in my opinion. If we drafted Ryan with the 1st overall pick he would instantly become one of the top 10 NFL QBs in regards to salary. Is it worth all that money for an unproven player? There is also questions about how good he is. Last year Ryan did have weak WRs but he still did throw 19 interceptions. If we drafted him I don't think we would be getting the full value of the pick with players like Dorsey, Jake Long and Chris Long still on the board.

Giving up our 1st and 3rd round picks for Derek Anderson- This is the move I would love to make. We probably would be able to sign Anderson for the same amount of money as Matt Ryan. Anderson would come in and be our instant starter for at least 10 years (he is only 24 years old). We would have to give up a 1st and 3rd rounder but I would still do it in a second. This may be a bit far fetched but hear me out. If we trade our 1st overall pick to the Cowboys for both of their 1st round picks and a 3rd. We could send the Cowboys second 1st round pick (28th I believe) and their 3rd round pick for Anderson. If that dream scenario happened we would get Anderson and still have a 1st round pick (22nd I believe) and our 3rd round pick.

What would you do?

none of the above too much for DA and mcnabb is getting ld would like to have him but not for money and our second round and to early to take matt ryan id rather take dorsey or mcfad i do think ryan is going to be good but what can guarantee that so i stick with what we have in less that dallas trade for barber sounded great

Derek Anderson has had 1 good season.. So you are willing to trade 1st and 3rd pick for him.. Thats insane and its stupid. I can't think of any player in the NFL I would give up a 1st and 3rd pick for...:shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno:

C'mon now... you wouldn't give those up for a Brady or Manning? That's insane

Yes he had 1 good season, then comes another, then another. When we traded a 2nd rounder for AJ Feely he only played 6 or so good games, not even a whole season.

There are rumors coming from the Pro Bowl say that Anderson is looking like a beast out there. If he is I want to get him now while we have the shot because after this year we won't have this shot.

I might help you want this trade if you think of us as drafting Derek Anderson with our 1st overall pick and giving them our 3rd round pick. If Anderson was in this years draft I would pick him over Matt Ryan...

So what do you think we should do for a QB next year??? John (butter fingers) Beck?

We don't have a QB!!! we will make a move or draft one, trust me

You're right, since we don't have a QB maybe we can trade for Donovan (I'm washed up) McNabb or Derek (one year wonder) Anderson, or even better draft Matt (mr. interception) Ryan #1 overall. See I can give cute nicknames too:up:

As cute as those names are you never answered the question about what we are going to do for QB next year...

The only one of those options that I wouldn't scream bloody murder at would be drafting Matt Ryan, and even that is not something I want to see happen.

Trading for McNabb would be the dumbest move we've ever made, and considering we're the Dolphins, that's saying something. We're rebuilding here, trading for a QB past his prime is so mind bogglingly moronic that it makes my head hurt.

And as for Anderson, well if he was really that good, the Browns would keep him. And even if you think he is that good, he's not worth two picks, again, we're rebuilding here, we need to fill lots of holes, not use up 2 draft picks for 1 player in a position where we've already used up a 2nd and a 5th for the guys we already have on the roster.

What do we do for a QB? We play John Beck. Will he play well? Probably not this year but it's not like we're in contention for the division or anything. Give him time to get better.

Sign a veteran (I already know there are no superstar FA's) and draft a QB in later rounds (Henne / Flacco)

But for God's sake no more trades for Qb's!!!

Yeah and DA has a better O-line and Winslow, and Oh yeah BRAYLON EDWARDS! We dont have a reciever that is even in the same league as Edwards... Or Winslow for that matter.... Or even Jurevicious....Damn man... Our Wideouts suck. DA might do well with us might not. Definitely too risky for that price.

Oh, please, there's not an NFL QB alive that it hasn't happened to including our own Dan Marino. With the slip out in the Bills game as well as the Cincy game; so don't even go there. Yes John is and should be our QB; he's on our team is he not? And you would rather give up draft picks for a high priced unhealthy has been, a one year wonder, or a rookie who will be even less effective than John. This team needs to be fixed, if you didn't notice, we have no playmakers, no run stoppers, and an o-line that is a sieve. And If Bill drafts a QB at #1 or gives up picks we might as well go back to Whanny and Spillman. So no I don't trust you, no offence.;)

why would we do that? why would we waste an asset as precious as our first pick on a qb not worth it? We already HAVE our qb future on the roster.. now, having said that I AM for drafting another qb in the later rounds, but that is simply common sense. I see no reason to overpay for a dude with one decent season..anderson.. or use the frst overall for the severly over rated ryan.. or waste a high pick on Donovan... the entire premise is in my opinion ludicrous. All this is really is a thread to bash Beck and promote some madden sillyness. IMO, a one star thread.
