Now this is not me being a Utah homer, nor is does it have anything to do with my affinity for Ford Motor Company.

In light of the most recent Barry Jackson article, I really think that Shelby is our best choice to re-sign this offseason. I believe he has outperformed OV and would be a starter on the majority of teams in the NFL right now. Shelby is a good run supporter and I believe gets after the QB better than OV. Plus I believe he will come at a much lower price than OV.

I have been unimpressed with Vernon this season and at this point would not spend anything close to his projected asking price. In fact he will need to come down to bargain bin level of me to feel ok about resigning him.

With all of this said, we will also need to draft a DE high next year. Wake is going to be best used as a pass rush specialist. That leaves us with a part time Wake, Shelby, and Fede (I don't see McCain in this rotation). Add a first three round DE or a mid level FA and I think we are set at the DE position. Would really like to start seeing some flashes from Fede.

If still on the team, he will probably need to restructure.

Shelby is a good solid player I would like to keep, but we need to add at least 1 starting DE this summer as a priority.

restructure wake, get shelby and ov back. i think they will let one walk bc of fede. ov is all down to money. if he wants to much see you later. i just dont want to have to spend a top pick on a de unless he is a guy you just cant pass up. we have to draft lb's db's and guards. maybe a lt with the way albert is always hurt

Priority #1, IMO.

Vernon has made stupid penalty in Jax game and I believe the Houston game too.

I like OV, but I would prefer they sign a BIG legit DE in the first round or second round

I wouldnt even open talks with OV, thanks and good luck

OV is a good role player, I had him exceling with Wake and Suh occupying space but it seems Shelby is the guy taking advantage. You have to figure out a way to keep both however, Wake is not getting any younger even though he is a freak of nature. Wake is going to have to restructure next year to boot but that's going to be tough if he continues this terror through more than 2 games.

I'm still undecided if linebacker in priority #1 or CB opposite Grimes should be priority #1...I'm leaning more towards CB right now. We need a MLB something awful but Jenkins and Misi have been playing excellent so far this season...Misi clearly better at SLB than MLB. But there is a huge gaping hole in this defense opposite Grimes...Brice McCain is clearly not the answer and Jamar Taylor might be our worst CB. Bobby McCain has a bright future as a slot CB and Lippett is still developing. Plus Grimes is on the other side of 30.

Shelby can be a 2 down starter...I'd gauge his market (don't think it will be much) and try to resign him...and I'd draft a developmental 43 de pass rush specialist at least by end of day 2 of the draft...I doubt this team asks wake to take a pay cut maybe a restructure though...

don't waste that de pick on a low upside 2 down like talent though...if it's not there move on...team needs pass rush explosion talent and youth at de...the ones with high end physical tools don't last long come draft day

He made a stupid personal foul last year in the Jets game I believe too. He is not going to get that money he wants from Miami. He is not worth it. Wants to play stupid and cost your team.

Shelby outperforming OV? Meh, I don't think so.. Is he a solid back up DE? Hell yes. And he would only start on a low talent team.

We need to sign both back. Look how the Giants did it. They were stacked @DE. Wake is the guy that they need to make a serious decision on. Restructure for sure.

1st round needs to be CB. LB is bad, but not as bad as corner. We have nothing besides an old Grimes and Bmac.
