Even a career-high 47 points from Gilbert Arenas couldn’t prevent the same old result. For the 14th time in a row, the Miami Heat beat the Washington Wizards.

Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal made their usual contributions to the 128-113 victory Friday night, but a new face in the one-sided rivalry made his presence known. Antoine Walker, who has been trying to find his niche in the Heat rotation, had 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists off the bench and exclaimed “I’m back!†after hitting a 3-pointer.

“I’m just trying to be as productive as possible,†said Walker, who was acquired in a 13-player trade in August and entered the game averaging a career-low 12.1 points. “Every game is going to be different. It’s very hard for me to say how it’s going to work out or how it’s going to go. We’re only 30 games into the season and without a lot of practice time it’s hard for coach to just completely change things.¢â‚¬Â

YEEAAAAAH BUOOOOOOOYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

My Wiz just cant defend Wade or Shaq, they can score but they need defense.

Gilbert Arenas sucks, lol. I like Arenas, but truthfully, he's not a very good player. He's a good shooter, and that's about it. Definitely one of the most piss-poor defenders I've ever watched.

Arenas is an awesome player, he led the team to the 2nd round of the playoffs last year. Yea he isnt a great defender but neither were players like Reggie Miller, Steve Nash, etc. Theres no team in the league that wouldnt love to have Arenas, lets not act ******ed here.
How about DWades stellar defense of Arenas?

Great to see Walker put up those points. I am rooting for him.

Did you actually watch the game? Wade wasn't even defending Arenas, and if he was, I wouldn't discredit him. Pretty much all of Arenas' shots came off of jumpers. Fact is, he's a hot & cold player. When Gilbert's shot is off, what the hell CAN HE DO? Nothing. That's the whole point. He's not a good passer, he's not a great ball handler, he's not a good penetrator, he's not good at finishing after beating guys off the dribble, and he's a HORRIBLE defender. Obviously, when I said he "sucks" I was purposely exaggerating, however, he's not an awesome player. He's an awesome shooter. You people love to overrate statistics and shooting abilities. :shakeno:

It's the exact same reason why I sit back and laugh my *** off when people call LeBron James the best player in the league. LeBron James is not even a complete player -- being complete means offensively and defensively, and LBJ doesn't play much defense either. Yall pay too much attention to statistics.

Well after 15 years + of watching my Wizards/Bullets never sniff the playoffs, well once way back in the day but thats it and seeing them be led into the playoffs by Arenas Id still take him. Without him we are a bottom feeding lottery bound franchise. With him we have a decent shot at the playoffs and making some noise. Thats about the only stat that matters to me. I dont think u understand how bad the Wizards were before Arenas, he has made a big difference there. 47pts 7rebs 8assists is a solid all around game, neither Willams or Payton was much of an offensive factor, I didnt get to watch the game, Im in Korea but Im not sure what youre talking about after this game. Arenas played great in this game.
Hes also young, is there no room for improvement on defense? He also spends a ton of energy scoring because no one else besides he and Jamison are really the only legit options, along with Butler.
LeBron makes his team better also, he might be a tad bit overrated, only a tiny bit but to act like hes all stats, thats just plain hating.

Hmmm? You didn't watch the game, but you know he played great? That proves my argument that you're paying too much attention to stats.

Arenas shot lights out, and that's all he did, just like Michael Redd does (except Redd never hurts his team by forcing shots, and he's a better defender). He was guarded by Williams & Payton for three quarters, and in the fourth...Riley put Wade on him and GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? 1/6, 3 points, which was scored with about 2 minutes to go, down by 13. :sidelol:

Just ask Arenas,
"I didn't help the team out in the fourth quarter," he said.

And going against the Heat, he ALWAYS disappears in the 4th quarter. You cannot be an elite player and disappear so much.

Also, he was guarding Wade for the entire second half last night, where Wade dropped 20 (34 total).

Without Shaq, D'Wayne Wade is Kobe, T-Mac, Arenas, and every other guard like that in the NBA. The only difference is Kobe had 3 rings with Shaq, I'll bet Wade doesn't get 1!

Once again, you prove how little you know about basketball. First of all, D'Wayne Wade? :sidelol:

Wade plays defense. Does T-Mac & Arenas? No. I'm assuming the rest of the guard class you're talking about includes Vince Carter, Michael Redd, and co? Neither of those guys play defense like Wade anyways. Also, Wade penetrates and gets to the rim better than any guard in the league not named Kobe Bryant (who he does it better than in my opinion, but that can go both ways - no h*mo). Wade is on a completely different level than those two, and he proves it when Shaq is hurt. You simply look at stats too much as well, and don't know enough about the game of basketball. How many Heat games have you seen where Wade played without Shaq? I've seen them all.

I won't speak on Kobe. As much as I hate that piece of ****, he is a GREAT individual basketball player. However, I'd rather have Wade who will never get into a dispute with a teammate, never make a dirty play like elbowing a player in the neck just to let him know he can't come down the lane in "our" house, and he's a team player who doesn't force his own success.

You act like Wade's **** don't stink. As I said, without Shaq, Wade is no better then Kobe, Lebron, T-Mac, or any other top guard in the NBA. Because he has Shaq he gets all this attention now, without Shaq, he fills up the stat sheet and his team is around .500 give or take a few games either way!

I believe I said that Arenas doesnt play great defense and that the Wizards cant stop the Heat, dont know why that was rehashed. Its true, never said it wasnt. Im sorry but Arenas did about all he could in that game, yea he faded in the fourth but he poured in enough points for some other guys to step up. I still think hes a great player despite a bad quarter. When Arenas gets a Shaq in the middle Im sure the Wizards record will improve. The Heat werent exactly playing lights out without Shaq earlier in the year were they?
The Wizards arent a great team, they need more pieces but Arenas is a great player, youre acting a little silly in this thread. Putting down Arenas and LeBron is a little bit stupid when u see how they have turned piss poor teams in playoff caliber teams. Yea they have work to do but they are very young, what young player doesnt have work to do?

Don't worry MY T-wolves will stop the Diesel and Flash

No, you're acting silly by simply overrating one of your favorite players. Never did I put down LeBron James. I just said that he doesn't play defense yet, and that's clear to EVERYBODY in the NBA world. Listen to any analyst, they'll tell you the same. However, offensively, LBJ does absolutely everything, so he is a great player.

I am not silly for what I'm saying about Gilbert Arenas. That's another obvious. You say he was the big reason for Washington's success last year, well, if so...what's going on this year? It was the combination of Arenas, Hughes, and Jamison who took Washington to the second round. Don't forget, Larry Hughes actually plays defense! How the hell can you call a player who isn't great all around, an all-around player? What the hell does Arenas do other than score?
