Despite what others might be telling you, the Miami Dolphins cap future is pretty darn good!

That's pretty much what some of us have been saying.

Miami has been really smart with their cap structure and contracts.

Their cap "issues" are always accompanied with a big contract or 2 coming off the books, or can be cut for decent sized savings or they are conveniently timed where extensions can help.

I understand the whole, in will just create a hole. But at the end of the day, guys like Howard, Armstead, maybe Baker and even Hill are most likely not expected to be on the roster in 3 years. Every one of those guys are structured in a way to where at some point in the next 3 years they can be released or traded with minimal cap ramifications. It's a hole, but it was a designed hole
It doesn't need to be a you lose a CB you need a stud CB. No,the studs are at different positions and are young and the future. KOHOU, Waddle, Tua, Phillips, Holland Hunt etc

Miami is SET however. They will not be big players in high priced FAS over the next couple years.

Their drafting will be the key.

Miami is and will be fine

I agree 👍

I think Miami has a 2 year window to win the SB and then it will be back to the Marino years after 1985 of being good enough to make the playoffs on favorable years of schedule and health, but not good enough to make a playoff run.

As long as Tua is healthy and is a top 10 QB, they won’t be drafting in the top 10 to acquire enough talent to become perennial contender.

I really like the talent on this team currently, but think Grier & Ross screwed the Dolphins from being able to sustain an era of excellence.

It began the moment they traded two-1st round picks and a 4th to take Waddle.

Dude, you serious? This is every team except for the Patriots who had Brady and other players willing to play for less. Wake up, this is the NFL as sad as it is. You need a major league GM to keep the team relevant while having a down year here and there. Don’t think they’ll ever be a dynasty ever again. It is what it is

i'll take a playoff win before thinking about an era of excellence

We took Waddle with the 6th pick in the draft when we started with the 3rd pick. We traded down from 3 to 6 (via two almost simultaneous trades), still got Waddle and picked up picks in future years to boot, a 1st and a 3rd. What is this nonsense you are peddling?

Agreed. He's looking at stats from last year and drawing a conclusion that Waddle and Devonta Smith are somehow the same? And that AJ Brown is somehow in Tyreek's league. Suggesting Grier F’d up by not taking inferior players for less picks. All the while not even mentioning the actual selections being given up, just the rounds, as that would skew his arguement in an unfavorable way. As if the 18th pick and 30th pick are essentially the same thing.

As it pertains to the topic, I don’t think we are in good shape or bad shape.

We’re in good enough shape that we can keep whatever players we deem worthy of keeping. But we’re not in good enough shape to be able to miss on first round picks the next 2-3 years, in an effort to plug some of the inevitable losses.

Tua, Phillips, Waddle will be the faces of franchise for awhile.

Not sure I needed an article to point out that by releasing most of the older, more talented players on the roster, my team would in good cap shape.

I’d still prefer to pay all those guys because it means they are worth paying. Replacing good-great players is the hardest thing to do.

That article is terrible. Its almost entirely in the abstract. Oh, we just need to draft well. That's a great idea. As far as next year it states the obvious about releasing Ogbah and Wilson but nothing beyond that other than Shore and Grier will figure it out.

If you want some real light on the situation listen to Kyke Krabbs breakdown

Cap in 2 years… what cap?

After all the **** Ross and Grier put Tua through, he’s not leaving any money in the table in negotiations next offseason 😂
