I was eating lunch today and I noticed one of the TVs at the restursnt had a segment about Gase and his mental preparation camp instead of the typical OTA style of camp. Anyone happen to catch what was said. It featured Louis Riddick and Herm Edwards. Not that I care about what ESPN said but it would be cool to get some kind of recognition for being different.

Any info would be cool and greatly appreciated.

They praised Gase for the program and for caring about the players enough to do this. Basically said it was great planning that Gase had this idea in mind for awhile and now he was doing it. They said other teams should and will copy the idea and the NFL should follow.

It was weird to see Miami have it's own segment on espn, and them being praised for once.

Thanks war! And thanks you to Albert and DK. I was to lazy and don't like ESPN enough to go on the website

and here we go....another team is on board.

The Dolphins won’t be the only NFL team approaching rookie minicamp differently this year.

They won’t even be the only NFL team in Florida approaching it differently this year. The Jaguars are joining them in altering the process to cut back on drills and other on-field work while devoting more time to meetings at what they’re calling a “rookie orientation.”

It makes sense today. The media, social media, drugs and drug testing, investment scams - lots to talk about. This is a good foundation for their new careers.
The physical rest is also important too.

I was not aware of the NFL's idiotic move in cancelling the rookie symposium and putting it on the individual team's to hold orientation programs at their own facilities.. Roger Go-to-hell and his blather about upholding the integrity of the shield continues to be nothing but hot air.

Further evidence that Adam Gase understands precisely what he wants and how he wants to do it. To commence with a different approach seems to show some decent self confidence by our new coach. It's early days but I like what he's doing. Maybe Stephen Ross has finally found the right guy.

The coverage of Miami by ESPN has been much improved. Not just this story but many more. I have seen a major shift in coverage from ESPN regarding the Dolphins. It's clear they have examined their relationship with the Dolphin fan base IMHO. This isn't by accident. I expect to see much more of this. I welcome it. I find it interesting that so many educated people have ignored marketing opportunities at the expense of other groups. Not just in sports but around the entire world. It is possible to support every team in an honest fashion. It is pretty clear that ESPN has been miss managed and allowed bias to cloud an obvious opportunity. I am actually impressed. Let's see if they can pull it off throughout the entire league.

I can see the media reports on minicamp now. Omar will say, Tunsil looked outstanding as he watched the lecturer speak about investments. Xavien Howard appeared to be nodding off after a couple hours so he needs to shore up his attention.

I think ABC is making ESPN look harder at what it's doing. It's no secret that ESPN's ratings, numbers, etc are trending down. Their TV personalities (awful) are jumping ship. ESPN is costing ABC a lot of money right now on the business side. Their hands are forced and the "clicks" are being broken up. I had a buddy of mine work for them for years. It was his dream. He eventually left for another network because of how disgusting it was there. If they don't point the ship in a different direction it will continue to sink until it joins the Titanic on the ocean floor.

Not to be a downer, because so far I like Gase a lot, but philbin also had a pretty radical idea for TC. The difference is Gase seems to understand that the team needs an edge. Not guys like Dallas Thomas and Jonathan Martin.
