I don't know if its already been posted, and I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I thought I just saw on ESPN's Bottomline that Colt Brennan just declared for the draft. Did anyone else see it? If true, that throws another wrench into the FINS draft gears.

I read were he did declare as formality since the deadline is today, but is reserving the right to withdraw it by no later than tomorrow.

Says he needs more time to be certain....

he better not change his mind

I'm with you there - the more qb options the better, even in the later rounds. It's really too bad about Brohm staying. It would have interesting to see if we would have gone with him if he were available to us at 9.

I know Brian Brohm is staying put. As for Colt from a Dolphins stand point (Wanny talk), He shouldn't get looked at until at least the third round. He's too young and inexperienced coming out of the spread offense at Hawaii to be taken with a high value draft pick.

Where is Colt expected to be drafted, should he declare? I like him better than most QBs in this draft. My guess is that he should be a first day pick, but I'm not sure where he is projected.

I'd say he's probably around mid-late second right now. Could definitely go up. And yes, he did declare, but he hasn't signed an agent yet so he has 72 hours to change his mind.

Brennan

Colt Brennan reportedly heard back from his NFL inquiry that he would be a low 1st or high second round pick if he came out this year. Thats why hes waffling on whether to come out because he could be a high first rounder if he waited. IVe seen him play 7 or 8 times this year and hes got a great arm-hes not a "System" player. In other words he'll be a LOT better than Timmy Chang(Hawaii's all time leading passer).

in other words, he was waiting to see what Brohm did so his stock would go higher.

Brennan and Brohm would be the top two picks in the draft in 2008 minus any JaMarcus Russell type juniors surfacing. Besides, if Louisville struggles next year without Petrino it only helps Brennan's stock. He's from a small school and a spread offense. He should wait another year.

what he needed to do was stay in school and transfer to another school that would help his stock-the offense he ran in school (oposed to the offense that will be asked to run are totally different- he needs a year to run another offense and he will at least 3 years to fully detox the run and gun out of his system) is going to kill his stock ultimately and like i keep saying nothing but a 4th rounder

considering he was highly recruited coming out of HS, and was at Colorado, most scouts knowwhat he can do.

Unlike past Hawaii QBs, he not onlyputs up big numbers, he's alsovery accurate
