I wonder how the obvious token candidates feel about the rule. Last year, for instance, Buffalo interviewed James Lofton (who is a receivers coach now, but certainly not a legitimate head coaching candidate yet). I could see these guys feeling played, but they probably appreciate getting experience in interviewing too. Who knows.
