The reason why I was asking is b/c I was listening to ESPN radio today and the guy that was on w/John Clayton was saying that his sources told him that Henne was out-performing both MCown and Beck, and that he would probably be the 1st rookie QB to play.

I haven't really heard much about Henne's play, so this really surprised me. I was wondering if anyone else has heard this or thought the samething about Henne.

Its all certain peoples opinion on players in shorts, it wont matter until some real bullets get fired. Joe Toledo was a stud in shorts but a scrub in pads.

Henne will eventually play. I don't know if he'll be the first quarterback out of the gate. Training Camp and Preseason will tell the real story.

I'm with you on this X. The coaches stated it was really hard to frustrate this kid. They have chewed his ear and kicked him in the pants and he keeps his composure. I think "unflappable was the word used. You know they love that.

I would prefer he stays off the field this year though because I'm not sure there is any need to rush him. I like his chances to be our future and you are right. We will get a much better feel for this during TC and the preseason.

Exactly, we can't assess anyone now.

Can anyone corroborate that John Clayton actually said this? Because I've not heard a single report, whether from reliable or unreliable sources, that said that Chad Henne looked better than either of the two QBs. It's been pretty unanimous that he looked like he had the most room for improvement.

I was wondering the same thing. So far everything I've heard has Beck looking the best in camp, but we all know that means diddly at this point.

CK, that would be a surprise to me also.

From local news reports that I have seen here in Miami is that Henne is catching on faster than expected and like Finfang said, he has been unflappable. They have also said he still has a lot to learn and a long way to go.

The general observation has been that this is a two man race, thus far, between John Beck and Josh McCown, that Chad Henne has looked ok and shown some throwing talent but he's also making mistakes out there and looks like the rookie he is.

There have been semi-reliable rumors that say John Beck has only thrown one interception through all mini-camps, OTAs, etc.

From what i've gathered: beck is most accurate, josh has the size, and henne has the cannon. but i havent heard anything about any of them really out working each other-- except the ones written by writers with nothing to write about because every story contradicts each other.

Exactly, I have not seen ONE single article that says Henne has looked the best. I have seen multiple articles saying it's between Beck and McCown. I have seen 1 article saying Beck looked the most confortable and was the most consistant. I remeber ONE article when it was ONLY ROOKIES that Henne didn't get frustrated. As stated above, game on when the pads go on. That being said, Henne has had the least written about him on a positive stand point from what I have read, and I search for stuff everyday.

I thought I read somewhere that McCown had the best accurate deep ball, and Beck was more accurate in the intermediate and short stuff. One of the Miami Newspaper blogs if I remember correctly.

But like everyone who has said before, they aren't doing it in pads. Pads changes everything...

Not sure if Henne has a bigger arm than the other 2. IIRC, Beck had the higher arm speed at the combine in comparison to Henne.
