Pennington played so well during the majority of the season, but it seemed to be his noodle arm and decision making that knocked us out of the playoffs. Our defense played really well in that game. I was not too impressed with Flacco, except for the long pass to mason. Is Henne really the answer for our future, and how long will it take for him to learn under Pennington before he is ready to take over?

u think maybe the Ravens D had something to do with it? Or maybe r center who couldn't block for sh**!!!

A lot of people don't want to go there, but I will.

Pennington proved exactly why the Jets no longer wanted him in our playoff game. After that game, every jets fan I know, (and i know a lot) said to me "See why we cut Chad?" And you know what sucks?

They're right. Pennington doesn't have the arm or the tenacity to win in the playoffs. He can be beaten by scheme and pressure. He's incapable of doing something different or surprising. Like scramble for a big first down, or throw a bomb no one saw coming. He's a solid QB, but being solid does not equal being special.

I don't think that the Ravens defense respected his arm, so yeah, the ravens D had something to do with it.

I don't think you can blame Pennington for the lack of protection nor the seemingly weak gameplan he used. I think the Dolphins expended all their energy trying to make the playoffs and had nothing left emotion wise for the Ravens.

Pennington made some mistakes in the Ravens game, but, he was hardly alone.Bottom line is that we would not've had a shot to get there with any QB on our roster to begin the season except him.

Our defense and all around team play won alot of our games for us, not just Pennington.

The Ravens D also made the Titans look stupid. I think it had more to do with them than Pennington.

I've been waiting to use my new smiley "colon vaark colon" (thanx Nub) for just such an occasion as this:

:vaark:

As someone mentioned, we'd not be smelling 9-7 let alone 11-5 without Pennington. Most of us would have been happy with 7-9 this time last year, so this is all icing on the cake. Now as to the question of whether CP can drive us deep into the playoffs where we consistently face top 10 defenses.. that's another story

I'm really happy we are revisiting this subject again.
I think that dead horse was trying to get up.

First, if you take Chad out of the team, we would never got to the playoff, so I don't know why are you complaining.

Second, if the Jets cut Chad because he can't win in the playoff, I think they are really stupid, because they didn't even make it to the playoff this season.

So in one hand you have Chad and the possibility to get to the playoff and in the other, no Chad no playoff. Sorry but I take Chad every time

I have nothing to complain about this season and all the memories.

I'm thankful for this season and all the memories too and all that blah blah.

but the truth is this, our schedule was easy, and us getting to the playoffs and failing to win a game will mean this season really means nothing. Even as Dolphins fans, we won't remember this season in 5 years (unless, of course, it's the last time we get to the playoffs in the next 5 years). Next season is significantly harder. Defenses will be significantly better, and history is not on Chads side as far as his health is concerned. (the man has never followed up a 16 game season with another 16 game season.) You watch, this playoff game will be the start of the end for Chad in regards to the dolphins faithful.

Also, thats great that you think the Jets are stupid for cutting Chad, but because they failed at their goal doesn't mean they made the wrong choice. The jets failure came from several misfires, not just one.

I agree with all of your points except about us not remembering this season. I'm not sure how anyone could forget this season. We were 1-15 and then won the division the next year. Plus we had the wildcat.

This was definitely an unforgettable season.
