I'm not so sure. Can he handle a full NFL game?
I don't understand why he didn't get more carries in last nights game.

At some point you have to test his endurance and toughness. Why wait until a regular season game to do that??

:shakeno:

The last thing the team needed was to injure Ronnie in a meaningless game.

Ronnie is in great shape. He's easily better than anyone not named Ricky on the roster. He will handle the starting role fine, and I really doubt he will lose it once Ricky comes back.

If he could handle a full college game why wouldn't he be able to handle a full NFL game? Last time I checked they were both 60 minutes. He'll be fine.

Nobody can predict injuries...they happen. At some point you have to know what you've got as far as him being able to handle a full game. Right now we don't know whether he will be winded in the 4th qtr after his 23rd carry or not.

If he is in great shape then he should have had no problem with more carries yesterday.

You don't think there is a difference in talent and being hit by NFL players verses college for 4 quarters? Please remember Ronnie is a rookie dude.
:rolleyes2

ricky and ronnie will both play when ricky comes back. ricky is alot better as a pure running back. ronnie will also be awesome this year at catching the ball. ronnie is unstoppable as a receiver out of the backfield. ricky and ronnie are going to form a two headed monster of an attack. hopefully we can go 2 and 2 during ricky's absense.

Ronnie just needs to get into game shape. No use to risk injury. He will be ready for the opener and he will be good.He has already shown that he can run with power,he picks the right holes when there are any and he can catch and block.I would like to see him run outside a bit more .

i agree with the injury thing.. it would have been really dumb to get him injured.

I hope your right about Ronnie keeping the starting job... do you see him starting all 16 games?

Where did I say I thought there was no difference in NFL talent and College talent? I'm fully aware Ronnie is a rookie which means he will have very fresh legs to start the season. If he had gotten hurt last night on his 20th carry everyone would be in here calling for Sabans head. Every team in the league gives their starters very minimal, if at all, playing time in the last preseason game. Ronnie had nothing to prove last night. The coaches know what he can do from what they see in practice every day. There was absolutely no reason for him to play more last night.

i personally thought he should have had more carries... but hey hopefully in game 1 he'll be ok, im guessing he'll only get in the 10-15 range in game one with morris and minor/gordon getting some carries too...

 Well said.

Brown will definitely be our starting RB, my concern is who the hell is our QB now?

Tell me something, what is the difference if he gets injured on his 20th carry or his 1st?
