i believe they did from hearing alot of good things about him from players and around the league in the end maybe just maybe fisher would have been the wrong move in miami and he did hire brian schotty as his oc:lol2: thoughts?

Hard to say if it will be a home run but so far it's looking like it's on the way out of the park. I have not seen or heard a negative thing about Philbin or anyone critical of the hire unlike what I heard and felt myself for a week agonizing as Fisher kept us all blowing in wind. I am confident in the fact that we defiantly made out a lot better by Fisher heading to the Rams so I thank him for that.

One thing is for sure...I would have jumped off a bridge if Schottenheimer was our new Offensive Coordinator!

I'm just glad Ross didn't go with Fisher because it was the "big name" coach available this offseason. Philbin, with his seemingly high football IQ, could have a very successful head coaching career. If the players buy into him the way the fans have, I could very well see this team in the playoffs as soon as next season. I understand the players play the game, but it's amazing what a good head coach can do for a struggling franchise.

No way to know until we see his team on the field. Even then, it will be at least a season before we can see reliable results.

Put it like this...the board would be goin crazy if we hired schotty as the OC or mccoy as head coach.it looks like a win right now.

They haven't even put the bags on the bases yet. :)

We won't know if this is a home run until 2-3 years from now. I would have liked to see up and coming, YOUNGER, defensive coaches interviewed and considered.

Philbin comes from a winning tradition. Maybe he will be perfect, maybe we will not have to begin from square one and completely rebuild the team. I hope so

I believe us fans will be consumed with the offseason news every day with this coach, his staff, and the players. We all want to be legitimate again so bad. So far, his inspiration and confidence in his abilities impress me greatly. I'm excited and fully behind this move.

Looks like a good hire, but its only been a few days. Honeymoon stage right now.

Not only does it look like he "hit a home run" but he did so with men on base!

However, it's a 9 inning game so while we've forged into the lead and I'm very hopeful, we're a long way from tallying the final runs, hits & errors :idk:
