I love this quote

As for Pennington, he's currently the sixth-most efficient quarterback in the league ahead of Peyton and Eli Manning and Aaron Rodgers, to name a few. Obviously, like Favre, he's not solely responsible for Miami's turnaround -- re-establishing the running game and discovering a defense have certainly helped -- but if he's playing better than Favre, haven't the Jets basically wasted a second- or third-round pick? Not to mention, there's no guarantee Favre doesn't really retire after the season.

here is the link to the newyork nbc affiliate carring the entire article:

There is only one qb that i disliked more than pennington at the start of the year. Now I know why its better to have a decent qb than a lucky one. Luck has a tendency to run out at the worst possible times.

Of course we made out better

Yes, It was an incredibly boneheaded move by the Jets. Not only did they lose draft picks, they didn't improve their own team and subsequently improved a division rival. It really looks like Mangini was selling out to try to save his job.

I just Love all the love that the NY media is giving Favre.:sidelol:

In fairness this article came out sat before Favre's little win in STL but pennington is still having a better year then him. You gotta wonder if as the season goes on too if his age is going to catch up to him. Especially considering we may be playing him week 17 for 1st place of the divison.

Favre didn't do anything in the win against stl. He had like 160? yards passing. Not exactly a mindblowing number.

Yeah Pennington is a dream come true. We now have a PROVEN Franchise quarterback while we develop another one. I'm ecstatic.

I am going to give favre the credit that is due to him.

He is the luckiest football player on earth.
He has escaped any type of serious injury over his entire career.
He ended up with a team that was patient with hiim even through his rough years. (while most teams would have cut ties with him)
His total turnovers would have cost him a pro career in 31 teams in the NFL so he ended and he ended up on the team where it didnt.
He made a name for himself BEFORE he came to NY so now he gets the credit for everything they do on defense and with their ground game.

I would vote favre in the Hall on his luck alone.

Ha Ha I did not know he did not have great numbers that game, let the new york media take another chunk out of his butt. They may have the fans rooting against themselves to win so they dont lose the draft pick by the time its all over. :sidelol:

I would almost bet that the jets will be 6-6 in three weeks.
:woot:

i've always liked chad . i think both teams made out the jets and the fans needed a change and they were'nt ready to let clemens start.

it's funny how you guys were calling for him to be benched after the second week tho

I wouldn't refer to the vocal minority who cry that the sky is falling after every game as "you guys".

Did we make out best in the Favre trade? OK, let's recap:

Packers - lost an aging QB, gained a draft pick. So they improve while picking up a pick as well, not bad.
Jets - lost a draft pick, gained an aging QB at the end of his career, ditched the better QB.
Fins - gained a great QB, lost....NOTHING

Yep, I think we definitely made out the best. Jets made out the worst in the whole deal, gotta love it!

The best part is this is coming out of the new york media. I wonder what GB media is saying about the trade right now. I am guessing they are having mixed feelings about it all considering Arron Rodgers is cooling down a bit on his play.
