There are 2 points to remember when considering this.
1) Jake is signed to a shorter contract than last year's #1, so we shouldn't have salary cap problems until the end of his contract, by which time either he'll have earned the salary or be willing to accept less, which should help our salary cap situation at that time.
2) He's signed and will be available immediately, so he should be able to start for us day 1 of his rookie season at LT. With offensive lines it often is as much chemistry as it is talent. Getting these guys playing alongside one another ASAP is going to determine how we do next year and the years after. This is also why I see us drafting a starting LG somewhere in the 2nd-4th round this year.
