Die Hards time to take a break (My experience).

Ok. See you in May for the draft.

Yeah its not an over the head guy, you literally posted see you guys in March for free agency without any wherewithall of the fact that we have no money for said free agency. Sure if you said see you in May, that would be legit. But dont act like it went over my head when your **** was factually inaccurate.

Good Lord dude. The point isn't whether the Dolphins will sign any free agents (and they probably will sign a few guys for pennies on the dollar as EVERY NFL team signed at least 1 free agent last year). The point is all the "I'm done with the Dolphins" people will be back. We're all addicted.

And the best part is I even stated if they weren't back by free agency, they would be for the draft in May. But sure dude it didn't go over your head. 🤣

I’ve been screaming for as long as he’s been here that Ross is a ****ing asshole and should fall down a long set of stairs, now you guys are finally coming around to it. Who would’ve thought we’d miss Wayne Hi Pinga
Ps, Tom Garfinkel can eat a dick too

Yeah, that’s not what most of us are coming around to. There’s a considerable difference.

What I did was focus much more on the Miami Hurricanes. They are bringing the fans alot of joy this season and they're are now in the final 4 going into Thursday's game with Ole Miss. Tune in and root for Bain, Beck, Malachi Toney and CJ Daniels etc. Bain will go early in the first round and Beck should be a first round QB according to most mocks. The Hurricanes have 2 absolute studs at receiver, Daniels and Toney. It should be a fun watch.

I'm 39 and been a hardcore fan since 13.

This was really the first year in a long time that I became numb to them. After week 1 vs the Colts, it was like, "here we go again." I have too many kids now and too many hobbies to allow the fins to dictate my mood anymore (other than being happy if we were really good).

As a rabid fan, disconnecting from them while they clearly don't care as much as we do has been a game changer for me lol

I never turned a game off before.

I probably turned off 6 or 7 of them with 10+ minutes left this season because there was no urgency.

I’ll watch every second of every game and be locked into the entire offseason as always. That will never change. I’m a Dolphins die hard for life regardless.

But I’m done with ticket purchases and merch until REAL change happens. And I do not blame anyone for completely disconnecting. First of all that is your choice. Secondly, that choice is justified and I am envious that you’re able to do that. I wish I could.
Agreed. I have a very hard time just letting go and not following the Dolphins. I still have a hard time not watching the games (I've only missed a few), but it is easier to just check the game later when they aren't in the hunt. I just can't bring myself to check out and then come back when things are good. Growing up, that's what was called a fair weather fan, and not a good thing to be called. To each their own, but when this team is finally good again (God willing while I'm still alive) I'm gonna be able to say I was a fan through the good, great, bad and sh*#@y times. Just won't be as satisfying if I step away until they are good/great. I have, however, considered not purchasing Sunday Ticket recently, but still end up getting it at some point in the season. I have very little merch, as I don't have a lot of disposable income for that.

I fell in love with team in 1975, so never saw the Super Bowl wins. Same year, fell in love with the Cincinnati Reds. At least I saw them win a couple of World Series.
I won't go into what a freak fan I'd been, but for me, it's not so much about a conscious withdrawal; something just "died" in me that night they choked away that MNF game to Tennessee in 2023. Then, in 2024, when Tua concussed himself again, the rest died. I don't enjoy wins, I don't get upset about losses. In fact- the only emotion I've really felt since then was rage at that botched pass interference call this year vs Cincinnati that turned the game around. And it wasn't so much about the play, it was that incompetent officiating can ruin a good game.
I will follow comings and goings with the team, and probably down the road check back in. Will my passion ever be what it once was? Doubtful. I have so much other stuff to do and enjoy that to give up a Sunday afternoon when I don't enjoy the game seems stupid.
I always remember what a girl friend once said to me: "I don't understand why you get so emotionally caught up in the successes and failures of a bunch of guys you don't even know."
Wise words.

Ross hasn't seen a nickel of my money since he bitched out after the poor people wouldn't fund his stadium upgrades and threatened to move the team to LA in 2013. I knew exactly where this was going then ... the writing was on the wall.

If everyone did that for even 5 games, Ross sells. Empty stadium for a few games and he's out. He has zero attachment to the brand other than it makes him money.

I can't detach enough to stop watching but I make sure any Fins paraphernalia is from eBay while making zero financial contributions to the worst thing that ever happened to the Miami Dolphins.

Speaking to all die-hard Fins fans.

Before this year I have not missed a Fins game since 5th grade ( I am almost 40 years old). Would go to bw3 or bars that had Sunday Ticket. At the same time have watched every draft from 5th grade rounds 1-7. Out of State season ticket holder for years and would fly down to games with my Dad.

Countless thousands of dollars spent on this dog **** organization.

My son born last year his middle name is Fin for christ sake for the Dolphins 🤦‍♂

I watched every game up until the Panthers game this year and said I would not watch another game until CG and McMoron were fired. Not one person believed I would miss a game. My wife said your going to watch don't kid yourself. The amount of anxiety I had missing my first game was insane. The game happened and I have to tell everyone I felt huge relief and calmness.

I felt the need to make this thread as I know there are tons of fans like me. If I can do this I know others can. Take a break enjoy time with your family, friends or other hobbies. I was hopefully McMoron would be fired but classic dumbass Ross strikes again.

I dont know what I am going to do next year but sharing my experience that others can hopefully feel ok taking a much needed step back until real change is made.

Fins up and hopefully our suffering will end soon.

Signed a battered and abused Dolphins fan.
thanks for sharing! That is really helpful!

I have been a fan since Garo kicked the FG vs KC . I was 10. My dad had 3 ST 72-96 . He gave them up when I moved to NC. I got my own ST when Saban came in after I moved back to Miami.. 2023 was the most fun I had had since the OB days. I got teased and drank the koolaide. After Tua went down on TNF I knew we were frauds. My buddy & I decided to give them up when no changes were made last year. It was one of the best decision I have made.

Ross killed my spirt to be unconditional support for the Miami Dolphins.. I am 63 now. My Dad passed in 2012. & never saw our beloved Dolphins get back to the SB. Sadly I think I will never see the Fins back to the SB & suffer the same fate as my dad.

I cannot believe Ross didn’t can McD Monday. When I heard he was part of the GM search I almost puked.

Ross you have turned us into the Jets a joke of an organization under your leadership.

Hell yes, that and some other teams that I follow and have been a diehard fan for have been the only things keeping me going.

If it wasn’t for the Panthers, Rangers, Knicks, and Yankees…I would have checked out a long time ago.

I’ve been a fan of the Dolphins since around 1978, and am now watching my children grow up (too fast!) while Stephen Ross continues to run this once proud franchise into the ground. It’s absolutely disgusting.

I once remember a time when the Dolphins were one of the winniest teams and franchise in American sports. That was before Stephen Ross bought the team, and now you fast forward to the present day?

That record is long gone and now we have the distinction as the team with longest playoff drought in the NFL: 26 years since we last won a playoff game. It’s just so absurd and surreal.

Nobody can ever convince me that Stephen Ross has the fans and franchise best interest at heart. He’s been like the bubonic plague the very moment that he bought the team, just pure misery and calamity with his greasy fingertips covering everything wrong here.

It’s sad and depressing.
We were one of the most winning franchises in all of. Professional sports up there with the Celtics & Real Madrid

Ross you suck

I am so sorry for the younger generations that have had to watch the sready decline of this once storied franchise & NFL royalty. Sadly Ross is going to keep McD. Whom out of the 3 jointed at Tua’s hip is absolutely the worst at his job. We still need to hit bottom. Maybe Ross will put the succión plan in motion after we hit bottom. Probably in a year or 3 after we extricate ourselves from CAP HELL

I will always watch my favorite teams. I am a sports fan and have a bunch. They are part of my leisure time and I will never get too upset over any of them although some of the best moments I recall is when they finally won or did something great in a season. I will never forget Greg Camirillo. I may have spelled his name wrong but oh well.

I suffered for years in other sports cheering for bad teams or teams that had great potential but sucked in the post season. The Washington Capitals are my team in hockey and I saw them eliminated in the first round after winning the regular season title for points. I also watched years that they sucked after acquiring high price but older talent. They have the record for the worst season ever in hockey.

I am a soccer fan too and cheer for Canada who are finally getting better and Scotland who beat England in Wembley twice that I know of. Scotland or Canada will likely never win a major tournament and I will cheer for them no matter what.

I envy those who can detach and not care at times but do not miss those magical moments. This year I will remember the win in Buffalo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too feel the Dolphins right now are in a roster disaster and will watch the first draft without Grier with excitement. I also will miss Dolphins games for the next 8 or 9 months ....closer to eight for me as I will eagerly watch their preseason games.

It took the Caps 40 years to win one. I hope I have 40 years left and hope for just one Dolphins SB in that timeframe. If given the chance, I know I will watch those next 40, if I am able. Every year I will root for them the same and look forward for Sundays.
