Die Hards time to take a break (My experience).

I will rest during the offeseason after

Waddle and his ovaries are traded
Achane contract talks start
Ewers named starter
New OC coordinator named
Purge the stench of #10 off the roster
Tua fires Russell Wilson stylist
Tua traded to the Birmingham Stallions
Birmingham Stallions are too proud of a franchise to take him on

Fitz had played and ultimately failed on like 57 other teams already. Why the F would I want to watch, what I considered a carnival act play QB?

Before coming to the Dolphins, he had started games in 12 different seasons. In 10 of those his team's record was 0.500 or worse. WTF.

People rightfully roasted Tua for all the INTs this season. Fitz was an INT machine. Career record of 59-87-1. Career passer rating of 82.3. Yeah, no thanks.
That was actually a pretty fun year, we lost the first four games by a score of 163-26, All the networks were calling for the franchise to be fined or to fold, said it was an embarrassment to all sports leagues around the world. Then we started to compete more, kid of like the Bad News Bears of football.

Finished off that season by beating the Patriots in New England and knocked them out of a 1st round bye that year, the Chiefs took that bye and eventually won the Super Bowl, that was also Tom Brady's last game as a Patriot.

We had 3 first round picks for the 2020 draft and everything was looking like it made sense for once.

That year was more fun than this one, that's for sure

I am so sorry for the younger generations that have had to watch the sready decline of this once storied franchise & NFL royalty. Sadly Ross is going to keep McD. Whom out of the 3 jointed at Tua’s hip is absolutely the worst at his job. We still need to hit bottom. Maybe Ross will put the succión plan in motion after we hit bottom. Probably in a year or 3 after we extricate ourselves from CAP HELL
Absolutely. My brothers are jaded Bucs fans, and I told them the last time the dolphins won a playoff game was when I was 13!!

The Bucs have won two superbowls in that time lol They couldn't believe it.

Yeah I don’t care about what he did before,he was actually playing a better brand of football for us,leading us well and using every once of his skill and brain to help us win.

He led us in rushing. Players loved him, the team was trending up in the 2nd year and the Ross and co ****ed it all up by demanding to play a spoiled rookie lazy qb who admittedly wasn’t ready to take over

You calling him a carnival act tells me a lot
You can say that you don't are what he did before but that is all we had to go on before the start of the 2019 season. I was not going to watch a guy who had never done ANYTHING in 12 seasons. To make matters worse, Tannehill led the Titans to the AFC Championship game that year...... F me.....

He was the literal definition of journeyman QB. The year I refused to watch, he was 5-8. That is worse than Tua this season. 20 TDs and 13 INTs ... marginally better than Tua's 20 TDs and 15 INTs. Not sure what you were looking at. He was also FAT (isn't that one of your pet peeves?). He talks about getting fined for not making weight. I get it, he was a character... that is why I considered him a carnival act. He was not leading us anywhere. They planned to throw away the season to tank for Tua. Why would I watch that?

Your completely biased attitudes toward Fitz and Tua tells me a lot. Seems like Tua broke your heart and you've yet to recover.

I used to never miss a game and scheduled things around the Fins games. This season I started to watch the game if it was on TV and i was home. I missed a lot of games fishing with my 3 yr old, kids bday parties with my daughter, boating with friends it is a relief to not have this big block of time. I typically find myself checking the score, or even play it on the radio to and from places. But, I no longer sit through every single game as I did for the last 2 decades.
The last game I watched was th first half of the Saints and then met a buddy wade fishing in the bay...my phone was buzzing like crazy to i turned it off. I was not that shocked to see we almost blew the game.
Last Sunday I our family was boating with some friends and we got done after lunch and I saw the fins were down 14-10 at half. I drove over to my Dad'd to watch the game with him, and before i sat down it was a blowout and reminded me why I don't do this anymore.

There isnt much that could get me excited about next year. Maybe, if we pry Cignetti away from Indiana or trade for Joe Burrow or something

Cignetti ....Burrow...Oh mY

Why not both? but somehow it would still turn to rat dung in Miami...

I still can’t pull myself away from watching the pain staking torturous games, but for the last few years, I’ve become numb to the losses.
The old days, I woulda been sick to my stomach after a loss. Hating waking up on Monday morning with a pit in my stomach. Now I’m just like, “eh, just another day”
But I’ll be all in again starting with the upcoming draft, moving forward. Cuz well, we’re Dolphins fans and we apparently like to be tortured…
Like me as well. I no longer expect to win and when we do great. But when we lose, I do not take it so hard anymore. I have done some very idiotic things after losses in the past. No more. I went to jail one time.
This year, I did not expect anything good to happen.
This is my second season without Sunday Ticket. I went the way with streaming. I thank those who put me onto the sites. With my MacBook and casting to my TV worked out pretty good. A little bit of a pain in the ass, but better than $400+ to watch the Dolphins was a no-brainer. I paid for the Ticket since the inception. Many years.
I will do the same next year unless wholesale changes are made in the front office and coaching. We need a jolt! A big jolt!

But like you, I will have interest in the draft and whatever comes this offseason. I hope they clean house and start the rebuild again with the right people running the show. I do not expect that to happen. But it could?
I will be 70 in July. I have been a die hard fan since childhood, growing up in N Miami. Taking the shuttle bus to the OB from N Miami. My dad would also take us north when they had blackouts. We had a lot of fun.
I don't know how many years remain for me, but I hope to see something positive from the Dolphins before I go.
The bright spot now is the Hurricanes. They are great, they are Miami and they are my team.
I'm not the kind of person to jump ship. I could never change my affiliation. However, the Carolina Panthers are my home team here in Campobello, SC.
They won their division this year and I hope they can advance. It's a Young (no pun) team, but it looks like Brice Young may actually work out. So I have at least one more NFL game with a team of mine in it.

Fishing with a 3-year-old? You are a much more patient man than I am. A good daddy!
My wife is always needing help when we go fishing. Last time we were in a school of Mahi Mahi. I spent more time fixing her reel than I did boating many fish. I would have caught many fish had I not been distracted.
She grew up on Zebco reels as she only fished in fresh water. She for some reason cannot handle a spinning rod or a boat rod and reel. We rarely get to go saltwater fishing, but the next time I will teach her well in advance. I mean, handling a rod and reel does not require a Master’s degree.

Its in the bay usually I hook a trout or a small redfish and hand him the rod. He did catch a couple mangrove snapper on our dock without any help from me the pother evening. But, yes the fishing sessions are very short lol..He does like to ride in the kayal behind me when i wade fish and ask me a zillion questions,

I get it, man. The Arizona game last year broke me and caused me to redefine my relationship with this regime. I put all my gear in long-term storage, didn't renew my NFL Sunday Ticket, listened to more games (for morbid curiosity) than I watched, and whenever friends would refer to "your" Dolphins, I would reflexively correct them to "the" Dolphins.

All that being said, if Stephen Ross can land the plane on hiring John Harbaugh and a football operations purge, I'll put my jerseys back on hangers and start to re-engage my emotions on this team.
