Howie Roseman fears not the alien land across the bridge of Unknown Fortune.

The Philadelphia Eagles general manager continued his wheeling-and-dealing ways, insistent on making his team better in the now, not worrying about what may come down the road.

Following Tuesday's trade of a third-round pick for receiver Golden Tate, Roseman had a clear message: Winning today is all that matters.

"The message to our fans, to our players, to our coaches, to everyone in this organization is that our foot is always going to be on the gas," Roseman said, via the team's official website. "We're always trying to win, we're always going to try to put our best foot forward, and what we can do now is try to do that with this season and this moment and that's what we're going to do. That's our responsibility."

clearly this is not the tact of our Miami Dolphins. not for the last 25ys. come at me.

I think they ARE trying hard. They need to recognize when one strategy isn't working and move to the next. I've read a number of 'leadership' books and almost all have some version of 'be hard on yourself when things aren't working.'

A great to elite head coach and franchise QB basically.

No matter what other moves you make it’s useless until that’s solidified, like the cholesterol in my arteries.

Just curious about your definition of "franchise QB." Remember Sanchise?

I've said this a million times. It starts at the top. We have to fix the FO first but I'm sure that once again, everyone will be back next year so we should expect the same results as this year.

Its stated below in my sig, but incase its not showing up:

Franchise QB:
A QB that still performs at a high level when everything around him is not well setup. One who can mask team deficiencies and still raise team play with his ability. Every QB can perform well when everything is going great around him like Foles and Kenum did. I want a guy like Luck for instance, who was on that sorry *** pathetic roster and still won 11 games.

Must be sweet to be SB champs...Free rein to do as you please without fear of failure.

Mia leadership fears failure and failure senses it and rules the roost in S Fla

Easy to say when you have a young top 5 QB. Doesn't work too well otherwise.

I live in the "metro" area (50 miles away, but it's still Eagles country) and the Eagles are usually competitive to good. The one thing they have always had was a good head coach (Reid/Pederson), a franchise QB (McNabb/Wentz), and a good defense.

These QBs are hard to find and are never on a Dolphins roster.

There’s more

Two tweaks. 1) There has never been an NFL QB who can mask ALL "team deficiencies." Elite ones can mask 'many.' With that qualification, it appears you are equating 'franchise' with 'elite.' Yeah, I'm good with that. 2) You need a better example than Luck.
