I have heard Ricky and Ronnie both talk about how their running styles are different and therefore complimentary. That they bring different or unique challenges for the opponent to scheme against.

When I watch them run they seem remarkably similar IMHO. I am not complaining, just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Certainly, they are not as different as say Dunn and Duckett...

I find a similar stride between both players.. but they do seem to get to the line a bit different.

Well... they are both physical type backs...

Ronnie is the more physical player right now, but both are extremely alike IMO

You know Im starting to believe that even if Ricky Williams would have been on the team last year and Saban would have still become our head coach he still would have drafted Ronnie Brown because he has used 2 running backs all his years in LSU and thats his offensive style

Their main similarity is that they have mad speed and POWER, but ronnie seemes to go outside a lot more and has a little more shake and bake. Ricky is still the power back monster he always was.

interesting point

It's kind of hard to pinpoint exactly but it seems to me as if both of their running styles have changed slightly since their first games of the season.

Ronnie seemed hesitant in the first couple games and though I'd still like to see him hit the hole harder sometimes all in all he has become much more decisive. He runs with power and has surprisingly good feet for a man his size. His hands also seem pretty sticky.

Ricky seemed to be dancing around in the backfield his first couple games back but that could also be due to a lack of holes being opened up. What I saw from Ricky last weekend was north south running with a little bit of wiggle and a lot of power.

All in all I think Ronnie tries to dance a little more whereas Ricky finds his line and hits it. Both styles can be effective and I really like the potential we have in our backfield this year.

they're a lot alike, and are pretty interchangable. they combine great speed and power. they're both good threats for catching the ball and are both good at blocking. i think brown is a bit more shiftier, but once he hits the hole, he's very fast and powerful. ricky will hit the hole with little shiftiness, and isn't as fast, but is even more of a power back, despite being smaller

these types of backs are pretty rare, and miami is BLESSED to have two of them in the same backfield. hope we keep ricky as long as possible

I have been watching the game highlights Nublar7 did, over and over again.

I have to say I love watching Ronnie run. There is a trap play toward the end of the Saints game where he seems to glide through the LOS on ice skates. Ayway, it is alot of fun to watch!

I am really looking forward to the rest of the season...as our offense continues to get better, the defenses we will face grow softer against the run.

Hopefully Ronnie will be able to avoid the rookie wall and RXR dominate.

BTW: At the current rate, I am projecting Ronnie to be 1,200+ yards rushing and 250+ yards receiving for the year...pretty damn good for a rookie!
