I tried to Tivo the Phins game last week and all I got was 3+ hrs. of a screen with the NFL logo saying I'm watching The NFL Ticket-but no game. Did I F it up or should I commit a couple of hrs. on the phone with Direct T.V. any inputwill be appriciated.

My experience is that they often change the channel right before gametime or they list a game on that channel and it is shown on another channel. You may need to call them to see what channel it will actually be on.

If it was playing on the local channel they didn't show it in the Sunday Ticket... It said not available in your area or something like that.

You probably Tivo'd the first listing to show up on the channel which is just a placeholder for the channel, before the game airs. You have to make sure you select the one that is airing at the right time.

Tivoed fine for me... Just make sure you record the program after the game too! Games usually go beyond 3hrs, and you definately don't want it to cut out when there's 2 minutes left and the JETS are down by 3, trying to get within field goal range!!

the game was supposed to be in HD and i was sitting there watching the pregame **** then BOOM said not available in my area. this was dumb thinking on my part but stupid *** wink tv was broadcasting and they don't allow anyone else to show it if they are.

thats fine and all but winktv needs to come to the year 2005 and start broadcasting an HD signal....they SUCK!

I did the same thing, it was our local CBS station

DAMN!!!!! :fire:

I have Dish Network at my place (My dad orders the Ticket at his house, I'm there on Sundays) Since the game was going to be on our local CBS, I used the DVR service from Dish. Even though the game is shown as a 3 hour program, the DVR automatically knows to record 5 minutes before, and 1 hour after. I had Tivo through Directv and I always had to remember to record the show after or my game got cutoff.

oo thx for the tip my HD DVR gets installed next saturday !

250gb

If you live in the Los Angeles area then the game was on CBS here. I have NFL sunday ticket and the game was blacked out on the sunday ticket channel. That might have been the problem.

I learned that the hard way once. I don't remember what game it was though.

Dude I had the same thing happen here in AZ. I wound up getting 4 hours of the place holder for the game. tivo doesn't know that the game comes on after that holding section. You have to manually go in and select the actual game for record, and then also select the next show after that. It's a pain, especially for me cause I am going to be gone for a month, and I know my wife will screw it up somehow.

Tivo rocks in most situations but Direct TV blew it on this one.

When you set up the recording go in the options and there is the Overtime option. You can set it to record a set amount of time longer. I usually do it a 1/2 hour or hour longer. There are 2 things to be careful of. Make sure you are recording the game and not the pregame placeholder crap. Also make sure it is not on any of the local channels in your area, like CBS or Fox. Other then that you should be all set... Enjoy!!
