I was wathcing the game yesterday and reading posts on the official game thread and I must say that I was very disappointed in many of the posts during that first half!
There were so many posts in which people were spewing venom at Gus that it just annoyed me. I know he wasn't playing well at that point, and I know that different people have different opinions about who should be starting, but regardless, we have a guy out there playing professional football, giving his best effort and I read posts where people are wishing him to have a season, or maybe even career, ending injury??????
I think some have a misunderstanding of how Saban views Gus's role on the team and they confuse Saban/Gus with Wanny/Jay. Wanny felt Jay was a high level QB and was going to stick with him forever. Saban knows Gus is not the QB of the future but feels he gives the team the best chance to win at this time. Why? I don't know, only Saban does. Regardless tho, if you wish Saban would take Gus out of the game, fine, say so, but PLEASE do not continue to wish that Gus, or any other Dolphin player, would go out there and injur themselves while they are trying to win a game so that we the fans have something to cheer about.
