Hey guys,
I'll be honest. I like Sateale and think he could be a starter but do you guys think had he not gone right before our pick to Carolina that we would have taken him. I think Kalil would have def. stepped right in and def. been out starting center. What do you guys think? Thats the only part of the draft that really bothered me.

there was alot of that draft day..

second guessing gets us no where..

we all had our picks and cam had an agenda..

give em time to see if they work or not...

I still think we would've picked Satele just because he fits our system more.

I was a little upset that we did not get Kalil.
But Stalele is good too though.

Kalil was never mentioned by the Dolphin personnel ,nor did I here any rumors we were interested in him. I did however read several things about our interest in Satele prior to the draft.

Kalil was very popular on this site as was Quinn, but that doesn't mean anything, does it?

thats a million dollar question that we will never find out,,,i wanted kalil but i have to say i love the samoan vibe going on,,kalil is technically sound but satele is strong, big and nasty.only time will tell

There are no "sure things" in the draft, the list is very long of "can't miss" players who are no longer playing.

Both Kalil and Satele are fine prospects, but why give up a pick when we have soo many needs on the O-line?

Kalil looks solid, Satele looks like a future leader of our o-line.

The one thing Satele has on Kalil is versatility. It is yet to be know wether he'll play guard or center but the one thing we do know is that he'll be starting. Yeah I'd rather have taken Kalil if we were just looking for a center, but I'm more than content with Satele and his versatility and athletisim to fit in wherever the team needs him most.

When they didn't take him with the first of our 2nd rounders, I figured they were targeting someone else later on. The results obviously won't be in for a few years, but I think that Satele is surely a better fit here.

Kalil was the higher rated C in the draft. But I read somewhere (by one of the draftniks) that Kalil wasn't the type of player that best suits Cam's preferences, but who really knows...it's apparent they wanted an interior lineman...And as to stepping in, I think Satele can step in and play as well...

Was he 'stolen', yea I think so...

He wasn't mentioned per se, but HH ran the pro day for the Hawaiian contingent and we bypassed the USC pro day to do this...I think there was as much personal knowledge about Satele by this staff as any player we chose...

I think we targeted Satale over Kalil.. I was initialy disappointed that he got snatched right in front of us, but after reading all the comments and such I changed my mind. He is nasty and perhaps has a bigger upside due to versitility.. no matter, IMO, he was the best available on the board and "I" think he will be good enough. Kalil might prove better, but I doubt by enough to make us regret how it went down.

Yup and there was very little attention paid to Kalil. The team has openly stated they wanted guys who can very likely play 2 positions (C/G and G/T). Houck likes maulers and guys with high athletic ability that he can coach up. Hence why you don't hear about OL that Miami picks up being "technicians".

I actually called it with my friends when they noticed Kalil dropping and I told em I hope he doesn't make it to Miami cause the 'media friendly' fans would be disappointed yet again.
