Sure, the refs did make some bad calls last night. However, some people need to open their eyes and realize that these calls went both ways.

The non call PI on Tillman where he slapped at the WR's hands before the ball even made it to him (I think it was Tillman) should have been a 1st down for the steelers deep in Fins territory. The non call on Goodman (I think it was Goodman) when he would have stopped the reverse in the backfield was a blatant miss. I don't know who the refs were but they sucked....for both sides.

The reasons we lost that game were, plain and simple:

a) The O-line could not create holes for Ronnie (although Ronnie did seem to miss a couple when they did open).

b) Our safeties (I would imagine it was the safety's fault) cannot seem to cover a TE going deep down the field.

c) Our D-line did not get enough pressure on Batch (or stop the run well enough). In fact, alot of our blitzes seemed pretty futile as well, AND

d) When the game was still well within our reach, C-Pep threw the game away by trying to force a ball into coverage by J. Porter. Mind you, this was a great play by Porter but it was still a bad decision.

We were outplayed last night, O-line, D-line and QB. If you lose the battles at all three of these positions you will very rarely win the game.

your not wrong, but 10 penalties to 1 is pretty lamo dont ya think especially after the debacles in the Super Bowl? How many times could Pitt been called for holding last night? It is becoming obvious that referreeing is biased.

You're not the boss of me. I can do what I want! But i guess i don't completely blame them. They did stink though.

LOL bingo! Its all part of the deal they made with the WWNFL last year after the bad call in the indy game! I just wonder how many gimmee games do they get for (one) bad call. I hate to say it but it is really getting rediculous I am about ready to give up on pro football altogether and only watch college and highschool.....Sigh oh well at least I get to watch my 9 and 12 year old boys play tomarow And I know the refs havn't been paid or told when to make calls. Thank God for peewee league!

You forgot one other (and so many are gonna hate me for saying it):
e) Jason Taylor lost containment on at least three big plays. Had he kept his containment, there were two Steeler drives that would have been halted short. I thought he was a huge disappointment last night. I'm not saying he lost the game and has to have 5 sacks every game, because it is a team effort and you can't be great every game, but he stunk last night. Getting sacks, tackles and pressuring is tough, but keeping containment is a mental aspect of the game and he blew it.

Wasn't that the play where the ball was about five yards ahead of the receiver? I don't think that ball was catchable.

well according to nfl.com it was 12 penalties to 2. I didn't realize it was that lopsided but I still don't believe this one can be pinned on the refs.

ChicagoFinFan, you make an exellent point as well. JT did not play very well last night, especially on that counter pitch to the left side on 4th and 1. It looked a lot like the play that Cleveland ran on us last year (if I remember correctly) which JT actually contained well (although Droughns still took that one to the house didn't he?). If JT could have stopped them there like he should have that would have been huge.

Still, this can not be blamed on JT or the refs or Saban for his limp wristed throw. This truly was a team effort through and through. When your best player by far is your 3rd WR you usually won't win the game. We had our chances but we were beaten by the better team (at least on that night).

Man I can't wait for some redemption in the next game. The Bills had better watch out!
