It seems like the main missing ingrediant for the past 5 to 10 seasons has been a consistant O line. Will we finally achieve this hard to reach goal this year?

i dont think so, we still not sure how Carey can do at LT. Jeno is good at LG. We need help at Center cause Mckinny aND Wade dont cut it. I dont even know who we have at RG ( i think its Witley) thats not gonna do. And i think we're good at RT with McDougle. We dont really have great Depth. Our QB's will have enough time to pass but i dont think our RB are gonna have a ton of room to run.

Not yet, but there is some hope for this year....

They've looked more focused this yaer IMO, and in the scrimmage drills, they seem to be giving the QB's decent time, not great by any means, but better than what I was seeing in 2004. There were TC's I was going to last year where the QB's were getting sacked on almost every snap!!...

Houck has his work cut out for him, but they should be much more respectable this year from what I've seen thus far....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Yeah, I don't think we're there yet either, But would'nt it be great if when it looks like we've been stopped for no gain and have actually gained 3 or 4 yards.

I think coach Houck will have that o-line lookin dominate and dangerous come game 1, I've seen it before...take the same roster with new coaching and the players' performance explodes.

you can coach til youre blue in the face but if you have scrubs theyll never dominate anything. i'd say we have 3 linemen that could be solid: mcintosh, james and mcdougal. all have been starters for their careers and held their own. carey and hadnot could develop into players but its too early to tell how good theyll be. mckinney, smith, and whitley are a joke and st claire is ok but you'd like to do better than him.

Consistent highly. Dominant will need a miracle. Just ensuring that rushers don't get to the QB before anyone can count 1,2,3 is good enough.

Dominate? No. Play above average and have some very good games? Yes.

Chemistry on the OL is important, one offseason is rarely enough time to form a dominating OL. Especially when you have a few inexperienced guys, and some players that just dont have a lot of talent.

I think in a couple of years we will have a dominating OL. Its just too soon to have a OL that takes over games, like the old cowboys line would do.

I'd be elated if our line ranks around the middle of the pack in the NFL this year.

That would be a H-U-G-E improvement.

But I love what I'm hearing from camp so far.

It has all the potential to dominate. they were playing better and better as the season went on last year and i believe Vernon will be a solid LT for years to come. Hadnot is solid already and the vets Stockar, Jeno, and hopefully McKinney will hold their own. And for the 1st time in years we have solid depth; McIntosh, St. Clair, Wade Smith, Alabi, Jason Thomas has potential. I just want to know what the deal is with all the retirees on the line. And I thought Lionel Turner would actually show something other than an "I quit". Pape made All NFL-Europe and then retires?! I guess his heart wasn't in it. Better that he quit than play half-heartedly. As for Eric Wilson I have no idea. But to answer the question will our o-line be dominate this year, I say we have all the potential in the world to dominate and Houck will bring it out; so technically my answer is, Yes, we will have a dominate o-line this season.

I'll never say its not possible, but I would be REALLY surprised if we had that kind of OL....

Really....don't tell that to BB, becuase he doesn't seem to have a problem plugging holes!! Infact they don't seem to miss a beat no matter what the position. Would you say thats because of talent or coaching?? My money, would be on coaching.BB doesn't bring in just anybody to replace injured players. He has giudelines for every position, I think it's a check list and if you're a player avalible to go to the Pats you better make it through BB check list or you won't play in NE. Saban applies these sam principles.
