Just a reminder to how the waiver wire system works: A team like Miami can put in a claim for one player and if no team with a higher priority position claims him, we sign him to the 53 and have to cut one player to get back to 53. If we put in 10 waiver claims (thinking we will only get one or two) and are awarded all ten because no one else put in a claim for them, we must cut ten players to sign them all. I fully expect a few people to bitch about this being common knowledge, so this info is not for you if you know it already.

So if we claim someone they have to go on our 53 man roster. They cant be placed on our PS?

Must be on the 53. I think they can be cut after a week and then signed to the practice squad.

If I'm correct, a picked up player must be on the 53 man roster for a full 3 games before they can be released or put on the practice squad

Of course the NFL let Michael Sam know if he was claimed or not. Nothing else matters.
