I believe it is characteristic of both Cam and Mueller(being the QB talent hawks) to like to have a steady flow of QBs because if you end up with more than one good one the other can always be traded. I know we are pretty stocked at QB right now, but my question is do you think next year we might spend a second day pick on a QB? For example like how Cam did with Charlie Whitehurst in S.D. or Mueller did with Bulger in N.O.;in both situations starters were already in place but they still were always thinking about the future.

I think we expect to lose Lemon after this season and Green will be 38 so I don't think we'll be stocked at QB going into that draft. We'll probably need to draft a QB.

I think your right about Lemon; was thinking along the same lines.

I think we will draft a QB too, just I don't think it'll be a day one pick.

I don't know if "need" is necessarily the right word. As long as Trent Green makes it through the season relatively healthy, he'll probably stay on board for at least another season. If Mueller/Cameron are truly confident in Beck, then he should take over the backup duties next year. He'll be turning 27, so he better be able to at least handle that role. If Lemon leaves that would leave us without a 3rd string QB, which really isn't that big a deal and will likely be addressed on Day 2 of the draft.

it would not shock me in any draft to see us take a day 2 qb as long as Mueller is at the helm. That said I would be shocked if we took a qb on day one next year.

Mueller's so called propensity to take a Qb every year is not exactly true and Cameron has no history there. That being said Green hopefully will only be here for one year and Cleo will not be in hot demand by anybody with half a brain so he could conceivably be our backup next year if Beck is ready. There will proabbly be no better situation for him since he will only have a young guy in front of him in that scenario. The years are cluttered with top picks that fail at Qb and 2nd rounders that never get much of a chance at all to be a starter so we may very well be taking a mid round Qb next year depending on who falls and what happens this year in practice and on the field.

I beleive that if the Dolphins new brass sees a QB that they they will be picked regardless of the round.

Truthfully, we aren't stocked at QB right now.

We probably will take another QB next year -- just not on day 1.

i dont think we will i think we are set for the next couple years

My guess is yes, depending on how much Beck improves from this to next year. Lemon is a FA next year and likely won't be back. If this is the case, and Beck has improved enough to be counted on as the main backup to Green, we'll take a QB, but perhaps a later round guy.

If Beck doesn't develop as expected, we will probably be in the market for a backup guy via FA...

Agreed.
