Mr. Ross is not going to make the decisions to fire or not Ireland/Philbin and Co. those decisions will come from his trust committee ( Tony Dungy, Shula, Marino, etc etc ) he will only do the official announcement obviously, according to ESPN private meetings will conclude tomorrow night, so we are waiting for the evaluations of the Committee and official announcement of Mr. Ross.

It's that "unnamed source" in action.Heads are gonna roll.If they dont you will lose more fringe fan base.

If we blame the decisions we must blame Dungy, Shula also. personally I think he is doing the wisest thing, hearing the advice of people of immense success in the NFL.

That doesn't sound right to me!

Ross might rely and heavily weigh the opinion of his advisory committee, but Ross will ultimately make the decision.

Yep...that was what I heard also. "Ownership by Committee"...BRILLIANT!!!

The story is a plant by the Ross PR organization to determine whether the fans will buy a solution in which Sherman only is fired.

Sherman should be the only one fired.

Bring in a new OC evaluate from within. Get your ducks in a row and **** can whoever end of next year. Anything else and we are 3-13 next year

if business decisions were made based on what the fans think, then I dont know what to say about your organizational management skills/instincts.

The story said that Ross is concerned about lagging season ticket sales. That much I believe. I also believe he doesn't want to make any changes, that he values stability in his organizations over other considerations. However, as a businessman, he is concerned about his bottom line and he believes that end of season collapse is going to affect season ticket sales. He's not making decisions based on what the fans think. He is gathering information about what his customers will do if he continues on the current path or a different path. He wants to make a decision based on what will optimize his bottom line and needs to have some idea of whether his customers will accept his solution to a perceived problem with his product.

Who would want to take the OC job when there's a good chance that Philbin may be fired if the team loses again in 2014? Sherman and Philbin are a matched set... they both need to go.

ESPN knew about it because it was private, not secret. Anyone can know if its private, but you just cant attend.

this is a good point, but the same thing can be viewed the other way around, if philbin is paired with a high octane OC the system will succeed and both will be here a long time.

The committee advises. Ross makes the ultimate decision to follow or ignore their advice. It's not like the committee can overrule Ross' decision, but Ross can certainly overrule any decision at which the committee might arrive.
