So wish we could have won the super bowl with Marino. At least Miami was always in the running with him under center. One of the most exciting players I have ever witnessed play in the NFL.

I agree! I stopped watching football for almost 10 years after Marino retired. Just wasn’t the same.

Sure I remember. Watched it at the Barbary Coast sportsbook. Game was pick-em. All week you could occasionally find either side favored by 1, but the overwhelming consensus number was pick-em.

I didn't have a wager. Most of the guys behind the counter at Barbary Coast were rooting for Denver to pull it out. When they failed, one of them was frustrated at Elway's lack of touch, and blamed the failure on that aspect of his game: "He doesn't have a changeup."

The lead sportsbook supervisor lost a big wager on the Broncos. He slumped in a chair in the corner, no energy and with a defeated look on his face. "That's it. He's exactly right. He doesn't have a changeup."

Encourage the youngsters to watch this video. The throwing motion, needle threading, ability to hit guys in full stride were incredible. And the touch - see TD to Rose. Gorgeous play.

LOL

Back in the times of My Yammie success!

It was great.

It was a long time ago.

In a far away land.

With no Ross. No TBum.

Just lots of points on the board!

Do I remember when it was fun to watch the phins? Remember when we always had a chance? Remember when we exploited weaknesses in a D? Remember when I never had to suffer through a bubble screen? Remember when negative plays or penalties were overcome and not excuses? Remember when we didn't force our receiving TE to be a blocker?

I certainly do and that's what makes it so painful to watch this current squad. I'll watch every week but don't expect much. I hope gase and t-hill prove me wrong but I don't expect it.. It would be nice to get back to being a perennial playoff contender and making it fun again to be a fan.
