No of course not. It just confirms to me that Ross does not value winning and has no respect for the fanbase.

Honestly I view Ross as a terrible person who basically just spit in the faces of those who have supported his team. For me it is time to move on. After nearly 40 years of being a Dolphins fan, I can not justify wasting anymore of my valuable time or hard earned money on a team owned by someone like Ross.
me too. i'll still watch (youtube), but i'll will save about $4000 not flying down for a couple of games (airfare, tix, hotel, food).

thank you Mr ross, you saved me some coin

I'm not even going to pay for Youtube or any other streaming service just to watch the Fins. If they are on free antenna TV or what streaming service I already have, I'm watching.

I am of the opinion that percentage is a bit higher.
Well, I would love it if it was much higher, but I think we all better be prepared to see the capris on the sideline again and Tua back in the saddle.

I just cannot believe that 29 people are actually willing to say that they want Mike to be retained. What kind of fans do we have?
It's not logical, so I'm not even going to pretend to understand it. They're like dogs chasing their tails.

To be fair, a lot of them are just saying they would rather just retain Mike because the other options currently are worse. I get the rationale, I just dont agree with the fact that we know Mike sucks, so an unknown would be worse than perpetually sucking.

I like other options more.

How can anyone be worse than McDaniel? He's not only a bad HC but also a bad OC/playcaller; it's like being cursed twice!

As a playcaller he can't run a hurry-up offense, he can't make changes to fit a different QB, he prefers finesse and speedy little weapons over toughness and physicality, and his adjustments, if any, are ineffective because he doesn't know what he's doing. Others have posted his 3rd quarter stats, and they're way beyond pathetic. The few wins this year were most likely the result of the suggestions of others, not his decisions. The running game improved when Frank Smith left the booth and came down to the sideline and when someone suggested to McDaniel that they should use a sixth o-lineman. IOW, other coaches seem to have a better grasp of what to do than McDaniel.

And, if McDaniel should give up play calling duties and just focus on being the HC, he'd still be hurting the team. His game management sucks, he's fine with running a Club Med camp with the team unprepared to start the season, and he doesn't know the meaning of the words discipline and accountability. He doesn't bench players for poor play. Tua played like crap for a long time, but McDaniel did nothing about it, so he must have been told to bench Tua.

The bottom line is that there can't be anyone who has held a Coordinator or HC job for several years that's worse than McDaniel. Even the ex-HC of a bad team, when matched up with a competent GM and decent Coordinators has to be better than McDaniel. A smart HC with little experience would hire experienced assistants / coordinators, but McDaniel didn't do that because he's not smart when it comes to running an offense or a whole team.

Preaching to the choir brotha. 👍

I love the excuses “I want to see what he can do with better players, better QB, other GM”
It’s nonsense.
The HC coach does not get presented with players by the GM, they have a HUGE amount of input on who is drafted, traded for. They even go to the owner to get some players overpaid.
McD, wanted Tua. He went to Ross to pay him. It was McD who kept starting him even when his lack of ability became apparent.
Let’s look at other reasons to keep him;
He has absolved himself of disciplinary matters to the players council, part of the brief spell of wins against weak teams was the result of the players council, O line coach and OC. Not McD, so no reason there.
His game management skills - no
Half time changes, no
Time management, no
His media meetings- no
Other reasons to keep him - I don’t like the other candidates- many people didn’t like McD either that’s no reason to keep him. There are other candidates out there, admittedly the pool will contract by the time the “shitty committee” have finally chosen their GM.
So real reasons to keep him
Stewarding and security must be cheaper with less fans in the stadium
Plenty of space to spread out for fans who do go
Lots of ticket availability for visiting fans
Sales of Unbranded brown bags for puking into or wearing (not both) go through the roof.
Easier car parking
Bargain price tickets on the secondary market.
Lonely fans can get lots of calls to brighten their day if they express interest in a season ticket but hold out.
Enochlophobics (look it up) can enjoy games, agoraphobics too.
His media appearances are howlingly funny.

I'd be fine with Mike returning next year, personally. It's going to be a tank year anyway.
Tank Commander Patton McDaniel, although he would run an excellent "Tank" corp., would ultimately be a cancer that would infect the team in '27 and beyond. Although we would lose more games with Patton McD in '26, let's just part ways with this "Head Coach" and call it a day.

Should be a "don't care" option.

Won't really have any impact on the franchise. If he's terrible again, then he's gone after the season, and next season is a full-on tank year.

Only thing that matters is grabbing the right GM and ensuring he has HIS (not Ross' people) around him.
Yeah, let's not chance getting a new HC in '26 that might be able to make a decent chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. No need to get started on a new culture and work ethic in Miami so soon. We always have next year (and the year after).

But, but, but he's the smartest guy in the room!

At this point with the last 3 days news, I don't see either one of them back. My opinion was different 3 days ago when I figured Ross would run it all back again.
